Especially because it will mess up with the transfer market. Lot of old players will not be sell anymore or they will be bought on the purpose to become coach and then fired.

Problem is that new users need to be able to buy these cheap old players for their teams.

All ideas which can potentially impact the new users experience should be reviewed very carefully...

There would be a cost asociated with the conversion of a player to coach (courses and so). The roulette price would be a limit to the price of these players: there's no sense to spend x money to get a coach from a player if you can get it cheaper in the roulette. And not everyone of the old players have magical+ experience

I don't think it would chance the market prices much. If there is a requirment to stay in the new club for a period of time the buyer still would have to wait for some time. Also, it's not a guaranteed jackpot so paying big prices just for that purpose just wouldn't make sense.

As an old user it would give an extra reason to keep the old players (with "sentimental value") around for longer. Atm. I usually sell the players at max. 33yo. Their skills and market value declines so much at that point and there's no use for them in the team anymore. Also if the main coach could be a former superstar of my team it would make at least a bit more sense why the coach gets paid more than a 5x superdivine player :)

As for the other posts, I agree that there are several way more important things to work on. Right now people are spamming ideas after a long break, and that's what I'm doing too.
Btw, this post started with a speculation whether the "coach retirement" will take place in the future. I think that the "all-star" Akif Hrnjadović (age 66) would retire at the end of the season he became a coach :)
