Subject: [idea] New schedule and competitions

_james to All
This is my proposal for a 13 WEEK SEASON.
I know that there are many active threads, but this set of ideas covers a lot, and it is a set.
For this to work, we MUST have auto-loading squads.

Leagues - Higher pace when top teams are playing against each other. Rounds 12-14 would be like finals of the league.

Internationals - Champions League, Europa League (single or east/west), Copa Libertadores, etc.
1. Champions League would have the same number of participants as now (128), with a 3 round group stage.
2. Other international leagues/cups would have the same number of teams (128), but since there would be more of them nations could send 4-6 teams to compete.

National Cup - Only teams from 1st and 2nd division participate. Top 8 teams are directly qualified to the playoffs.
Rest of the teams play the group stage just like in the international competitions. They would be divided into 8 groups. First two teams from each group (16 teams) would play the group playoffs (week 4). Eight winners would be matched with the top 8 (week 5).
Top 8 - National Cup finalists + top positions in the 1st division (from the previous season). They wouldn't play the group stage of the National Cup (week 1-3), that would allow them to compete in the international cups.

Poland - This country is on steroids. Teams from the 3rd divisions can also take part in the National Cup in cases like Poland.
Adjustment (it is a bit complicated):
Week 4: Three lanes of competition:
1. Top 8 are waiting;
2. 16 teams, 1st & 2nd positions from 2nd division groups play against each other;
3. 32 teams, 1st positions from 3rd division groups play against each other.
Week 5: Top 8, 8 from 2nd divisions, and 16 from 3rd divisions, merge in national playoffs (32 teams).
Groups would not be purely 2nd and 3rd divisions, there would be some adjustments if for example a team from 2nd division is a part of top 8.

League Cups - League Cup of 3rd Divisions, League Cup of 4th Divisions, etc.
Group stage of 3 rounds. Neutral stadium, these are usually weaker teams with bad pitch conditions (not in countries like Poland, of course).
After that come the play-offs.

Optional international tournaments - More can be added on Tuesdays, especially for the teams in mid and lower divisions, U21 National Cup, U21 International tournaments etc.
I propose the following (just suggestions):
U21 International Cup
Teams must have minimum of 13 U21 player to participate.
Full International Cup
32 -64 teams, group stage followed by play-offs.
Ranking of the tournaments and the rewards would be linked to the ranking of the teams. Achievement in the clubs statistics could be added, "Highest rank of a won tournament:----."
Full International Cup
Similar to Full Cup. Only play-offs, 8 teams.

Friendly matches - They can still be played, on open Tuesdays and Thursdays, just to support the current training system.

National Teams - The issue with shorter seasons is that 7 team groups need 14 weeks to play out. I made a schedule to avoid this, but some games would have to be played on a different day in a week.
As an example, the first picture shows senior NT schedule (7 team group). Most games would be played on Monday and some on Friday.
Same would apply for U21 NT, Saturday/Wednesday.

I dont comment about the whole things...

But i must say that's this calendar is not regular. Habits is something we usually need to plan and dont miss a competition a week. You mix too much, different competitions, at different days, by weeks.

Too chaotic, as juytt said.

This is more normal. Don't know why didn't I make it like this in the first place :)
Lower divisions schedules can still fit, even though this is shorter.

Just an attempt of a compromise, and to give devs an extra idea.
As I said in the first post, i propose this expecting some auto options for smoother managment.

EDIT: Removed the pictures, schedule not good enough.

too hurting some week 3 matchs another 1 match need more regular
2020-05-02 12:21:47
You will always have that problem, unless we completely remove cups and only play leagues :)
2020-05-02 12:36:00
-1 matches are still being played randomly. Not a good draw

EDIT ON THE FIRST POST: Replaced the pictures, removed text related to old pictures.

Okay, I adjusted some stuff to make the season more balanced.
I added U21 International Cup. If we are gonna have international competitions for lower level teams, their purpose should be to help them grow.

That is my lest schedule proposal, I hope it helps us getting somewhere :)

u21 official cup when there is no official u21 teams is moronic
2020-05-02 13:40:33
I proposed U21 International Cup as a part of the schedule. (Rule: You must have min. 13 U21 player to participate)
I do not like international competitions for lower level teams, they would be matched with random people and later never play against them again. But I think that that is okay for U21, since the purpose is not to create rivalries but to help new teams grow.

Moronic is not to read...

This shouldn't be some super serious competition. The purpose is mainly to help new teams develop, to see their youngster in action vs other youngsters.

Enough forum for today...

like in PL you can organize U21 arcade CUP by yourself :) PL users (16-24 teams) organize such a Arcade CUP on spring and autumn :) 2020 June starts new U21 Arcade CUP :)

Agree with Juytt, each day should be dedicated to one competition only otherwise it will be confusing.

But arcade doesn't help with the training.

Purpose of this is to help weak teams grow. To give some reward to people who are training young players and trying to reach the top.

Idea is that you apply for the competition. If you have minimum 13 or something U21 players, you are accepted, and you compete in the cup.
Of course, you can only use U21 players in match setups.
