Subject: Small country surveys
- 1
So right now we are voting on what is the best way for sokker to move forward. Currently the DEVs are using an external survey (which has it's own issues), and have one proposal which will destroy the game for small nations.
Unfortunately, it seems like despite the survey being open for all, the News around the changes, and the survey link, are not being distributed to many of the small nation forums...ie the nations which are likely to have their sokker experience most affected.
Going through the 59 countries with less than 40 users (60% of Sokkers countries), 43 of them (43/59) have not even been told that Sokker is changing in their home forum. They have not been given a survey link, despite the fact the DEVs say they want to make the game better for everyone. That is 75% of all countries with less than 40 users, have not been given a chance to have their say.
45% of the nations, the ones most likely to be negatively affected, don't even know that they should be having a say in something so important.
This very much disappoints me, because it seems to back up the fact that sokker would prefer to just have a dozen countries and move forward that way, which is a terrible business plan as they would be shutting down so much of their potential market. It is also disappointing because we are told our opinion is important but this intentional oversight proves the game will move forward in a certain direction regardless of what it does to many of the nations in sokker.
So once again. 45% of sokker nations, the ones most at risk of the new changes negatively impacting their sokker experience, so not even know changes are coming to the game, and therefore do not know to vote, give feedback (on the survey or in the Sokker Development forum) or try to give ideas on how to improve the game as best for everyone. That is, 75% of all nations with less than 40 users, are not having any influence on the future of sokker, despite the future of sokker having the biggest influence on them

I am very much concerned about the impact of small countries but I think we need to be too careful not to be hysterical with the facts. The dev blogs are posted on the news page (and thus, below the login screen) which includes the survey links, therefore to claim that they don't have a chance to have their say is a bit of an exaggeration (even if I am being slightly pedantic).
Also, you claim that Scotland has not been given any information (presumably in the forum?). That is not true; all the development blogs are being posted in this thread, therefore the survey link is accessible.
I am concerned that the influence of the larger countries with bigger voting pools will obviously sway the results in favour of those bigger leagues, but I would hope that Raul and the developers have some form of demographic statistics that they can view from the response to the surveys.
From past experience I highly doubt that many small country forums are active anyway so I imagine most of those users probably wouldn't check in any case as part of their log in activity.
With that being said, I do think the developers should be making much better use of the in-game mail system, as this would be a much more efficient way to contact and notify users of big development changes or potential surveys.

well not all users read international forums so its still valid all nations need to have news posted in their forums as in other countries
True, true. Just informed what situation is with Lithuania users. ;)
Of course, there will be some, who don't know anything, but they don't read forums at all.

All countries should be added, and counries with not enough members should be put together to make 1 division, untill there are enough managers to make their own division.
There is no fun in being 1 of 4 active managers with 2 divisions.
Devs, how often is this not already suggested and mentioned by managers from these small countries?? When is this going to be solved, after knowing this problem for over a decade already??
You can't keep ignoring this! Just try to imagine how terrible a game is if you are 1 of 4 in your own country playing in different leagues at the beginning. And after a season and only 1 pomotion to highest league (the one and only promotion ever!!) half the league is active managers and the rest is still bot. What a great league that will be ..... I think all managers will keep playing. NOT ofcourse.
Give Sokker the 200 countries, add those together that needs it, do what is best for Sokker and the managers.
You won't have started playing if Poland was not available and you needed to choose Russia as home country!!

You haven't included India! Or are those countries from which not even 1 user voted?

you are right we are only like 5 actives managers in my county. I think the idea of creating a 1 division for us small countries is a necessity cause playing sokker right now is not funny and managers are thinking about quitting in my country which is very sad. I still play because i dont want our national team die because of 0 user

It is so sad, so many small country users coming forward and nothing being done by the DEVs
They don't seem to realise that the NT system will die if all the small countries die, which they currently are doing, and it will only get worse.
And given NT is one of the best things for many users, that further makes the game worse for even more users

Hi, I remember when I started the game for the first time in 2009, after a few seasons, we were 8 actives managers in ligue 1 and 2 or 3 in league 2...But like you in Sénégal, managers left the game, killing our league which had a good level and our national teams...and I left too in 2015...leaving Algeria lonely...
Africa needs 1 championship.
Now I'm back...for the moment...
