Subject: [Change] Injuries in National Team

2025-11-15 15:54:12
So you're saying the better team lost because of an NT injury? I'm not sure you're making the argument you want to make.
2025-11-15 16:04:06
That's exactly the argument I'm making.

Injuries are part of life and chances for them to happen are the same for everybody.

Sometimes you lose your best players to injury, it's the way of life, of football. Stop making it easier to the rich teams to win everything. Lucky breaks are usual in real life football.

Edit. Best compromise would be to reduce max injury time to 21 days.

When will the voting end? Is there a specific date?
2025-11-17 14:58:55
yes, it ends on May 11th, 2032 and implementation of the changes will start on 2040.

It's a valid argument imo. Injuries are random element and every random element is in favor of weaker teams. The big question is where the balance lies. Too much random = casino, too less random = everything becomes predictable. But I think we're leaning more towards the "too much random" side so my vote is for no injuries.

My more important argument for no injuries in NT matches is that we should not be punished for things that are totally beyond our control. In the club teams at least we click the button to put a player on the field and we decide how much risk to take, while in NT matches we decide nothing and and we get practically nothing in return.

The poll do not state if injuries will be completely removed from NT or just convert official arcades mode.
So in that sense is not valid

Sorry Poey I forgot to answer you

" Smaller countries have less players so they need more extra training to have a team that can compete with bigger countries. Bigger countries have a lot of players to choose for U21 and dont need that in my opninion."

"Poland has a benefit because they have a lot of players to choose for U21, so the extra training is less important."

this is not EXTRA training, you don't get ADDITIONAL training from u21/NT. you get the same training you can get in clubs. I train players from Italy, Brasil, Venezuela, Salvador etc. and they get 99%-100% only from my club, none of them plays in u21.

IF there was REAL extra training (so club gives 0-100% and then club+NT can give 0-150% for example) then YES, it could make a difference.
But you can't go over 100% with NTs, so it doesn't make a difference. (and it would be a terrible idea to give such training to NT but it's a different story).

And again - where it's hard to train and give that 96-100% training is in ages 16-19. Such players in 99% cases don't play in u21 NT anyway in ~50 user countries. So they have to get that training from club anyway.

In my opinion, it is a huge mistake to train players, especially young ones, above 96%. More game minutes mean a higher risk of injuries. And those 4% require a lot of game time, so don’t lie to people by trying to give 100% training :)
2025-11-24 09:08:06
I don't really know what you mean by "don't lie to people by trying to give 100% training"...

In general you are right, the last 3-4% is too much risk given reward, 96% is optimal. But I can give them 99-100% without almost any injury risk so I do that. I don't remember the last time my trainee lost a training :)

I'm definitely glad that you're succeeding. Personally, I find them completely pointless and risky, as I mentioned, especially for young players... who never even have the minimum stamina required for a full match :)
As for us, we're a small nation, and we definitely need to protect our best players at every age level in order to achieve success with our national teams.
Training is a complex process when it depends on many goals... it's one thing to pursue only personal goals, and another when there are collective ones as well :)
I have read a lot, we have discussed a lot, and the conclusion is just one - everyone should play in a way that is fun for them. There is no single stereotype for playing; everyone should find their own and build their strategy around it.

Again... if you play normally yes, I wouldn't go for more than 96%. If you concentrate on training, want to create 5x divine midfielder etc. and can play "safe" tactics in 1 league game then it does make sense.

But overall I agree with you, I even wrote about it on previous pages in relation to the NT training, which is often a much higher risk for players than the minimal bonus for training.

90min in friendly = +85% training
25min in league = +11.6% training
90min in NT = +2.6% training

in other words:
friendly gives 0.94% training for every minute
league gives 0.47% training for every minute
NT gives 0.028% training for every minute

injury risk = same

even higher injury risk in NT, because in club it's very often playing in safe corner tactics so very low or even zero chance of injury

That's not quite right. 90 minutes in the NT gives you exactly the same training as the friendly game.
It's stacking training that's ineffective and not worth the risk, but the NT game can be useful if you don't want to play them in the friendly.

Or you could play them in both friendly and NT, get 98% and leave them out of the league

That's not quite right. 90 minutes in the NT gives you exactly the same training as the friendly game.

yes, but you don't know if the player will actually play 90 in the NT or if he will play in NT at all, and you don't know what order he will play with / you can't really train your defender with ATT order in NT when ATT is the order you want to train him with etc.

and there is also the matter of injury risk, in friendly you can (and should) play a safe tactic which drastically lowers the injury risk, while in NT he will play a normal game and usually against worse players, which increases the injury risk, especially for offensive players with high activity %. In friendly you can have the youth play with 0%-3% activity while in NT players will often have 20%+ activity

What happen now?
