I am really looking forward at the qualification matches and I will try to do my best for the U-21 National team of Hong Kong.

Our first match against Moldova was a very close one. Too bad the winger tactic did not do what I expected it to be.

Further the strikers were positioned too far from the goal, so they could not create more than they did.

Our defense becomes better by the week, and I think that in our next match against Moldova they can make a difference in winning or losing that game. (read: becoming 4th or 5th in Group F)

Well, I think it went pretty good. But one thing I don't understand is why you play with a winger. Hong Kong doesn't have many (good) players yet. That means players don't catch a ball right and are less quick passing, especially on the side you will loose a ball more often. Especially with a country (or actually a city) as Hong Kong, it would be wise to play on a smaller field with good defenders. Minimizing the chance of the opponent to possess a ball, this will have 2 factors, they don't have the ball and you will have the ball more often.

I decided to play with a winger because Moldova played 3 matches with the same tactics. I thought that it would make a difference to use that space and hope for a pass towards the strikers.

Normally I would play with 3 mids and no winger, but I wanted to win this match. Not to defensive, because I did not want to let the Moldova make the game. The results were pretty good, but unfortunately the winger tactic did not work out I thought it would.

Our next match against Scotland is about to begin. Unfortunately there are 4 players who got injured last wednesday's cupmatch and cannot play in this U-21 match. I can tell you that I am not happy with this, because they are key players in our team. Either way, the youth will get it's chance to play, and I hope we play a good game. For now we are placed third in the Group F ;-)

We lost against Scotland, I think we did well in that game. Our first match this season was against Scotland and we lost 8-0, last Friday we lost 4-0, but we could not use 4 keyplayers, so we might have done better.

Today we face Austria, again we cannot use 4 keyplayers, and some players have a very low form. Austria is placed 18th, we are placed 78th. Our rating is around 38, and they have a rating above 50.

In a couple of minutes we face Austria, both keepers will get the chance to prove themselves for 45 minutes.

we lost against Austria.. We did not have any chance in winning that game, but we made a very nice goal against them. Again, we lost a keyplayer who is now injured for more than 20 days... Next match is against Suomi, they are even better than Austria, so it's all about trying to keep the score as low as possible.
