Everyone can share their opinions on how the team should play in future and past matches. English/Chinese (Cantonese) can be used.

The first match will be played tonight against our friends from China.
I prepared myself by studying every Hong Kong player which is on the shortlist of around 50 players.
I'm ready for it, but I know the manager of our opponent is ready as well.

I expect a tough game, but we'll definitely create opportunities to score and won't make it easy for China to win.

For week 2, 3 and 4, we will participate in the mini world cup. We are in a group with 3 stronger opponents, Slovenia, France and Cyrpus.

Congrats, gsasia! :)

Thank you, i only saw THE result and the stats, but that the goalie has such a low rating compared to his skills means he didn't had to do a lot

Despite the win, Hong Kong actually did not play any better than the opponent. That the goalie had little to do is simply because the Chinese strikers couldn't direct shots on target.

I must say, the team is considerably weaker than the past two seasons. Hope that the youngster can be trained fast.

I agree that we played worse than our opponent. Especially on the midfield. Our defense was pretty ok. We definitely have more defenders in this age category.

Besides we lost some good players, because of their age and I agree we are less strong than last year, we will definitely grow thoughout the season.

That we won this game against a stonger team (although they are lower on the ranking) is a bonus and i'm looking forward to the next game.

defenders are ok for the U-21 selection. the midfield and attackers are the lines that need to be considered carefully.
Nevertheless it was a nice victory for the U-21 squad, and a good start voor gsasia!~

I hope you can continue winning.

today we will play Misr in a friendly. We will be favorites for the win and we won't play in a 5-3-2 today.
I'll try to play more attacking to generate more chances. Let's see how our few strikers will do.

nothing short of an exciting match against Slovenija
we've been outclassed indeed, but did have chances to finish the come-back
we need some luck

the individual efforts of forwards were fine and i believe they are adequate for the offense

but one point to note is that we have been losing excessive amount of aerial challenges
that makes me feel curious about what determines who win in an aerial challenge?
any idea?

i would also suggest that
we strengthen our wing defenses to limit the danger from the opp.'s crosses =]

From my point of view, i don't prefer to play with 5 defenders on a row... When we do that, it will happen more often that 2 defenders are walking to the ball and that will create a bigger gap.

Strengthen our wing defense with an extra man means that we will miss a player somewhere else on the field. And especially agains Teams lioke france or Slovenija, We know that they will score... If we play with 4, 5,6 or 8 defenders... The chance that they score is huge... Thats why we need to find the areas where the opponent have space in their defence/midfield and position there our players.

Although I like you analyses! You take a serious look to our games and want to ask if you would assist me in finding the best way of playing against our opponents.

i would agree, more def doesn't guarantee fewer opportunities
(my team also play 3 / 4 at the back)

but i'm still curious about how to increase the chances of winning headers
in the game against Slovenija, the opp.'s forwards were not unmarked when they made heading attempts, but they managed win most aerial challenges

what shall we do if we wish to increase the chances of winning headers?
does abcde want to say anything?

there's no way of increasing the chance of winning headers as far as I know. Luck rules and perhaps The Hong Kong U-21 is a bit unlucky in that game. I'll watch it later again to check this.

Apart from that, the team performed quite good overall in the past two games. The game against France U21 could be a draw should it was played under league rule. Not using wing-back is plausible at U-21 level because the wingers are not good enough to make a great impact. But at national level, it is another story, as you see in today's match how the English winger caused defensive troubles when I misplaced the wing-back even just for a bit.

多謝gsasia朋友信得過Kwok Jun 比佢打個solo Def-Mid
好在都打得唔錯不負所托
2009-10-24 11:41:18
Nice victory, though I think it could have been better if the defence is pushed up a bit. Jun performed alright. Kin Keung is definitely Man of the Match. I shouldn't have sold him.

Ya, you are right. Actually in not really satisfied with the result and how the team as a team is developping. Some indovidual players are growing a lot, but we are losing terrain on midfield and defense.

I'm Extremely happy with attack and keepers.

I need to find a way to strengten our midfield. Am thinking of playing more 4-4-2 against same lvl teams as hk.

"I'm Extremely happy with attack and keepers."
