i hope many of you have watched our match against China.

in this game we've used a new formation
the main aim is to break the offside trap of China's central defence and create some chances, while at the same time use wing-backs to limit their wingers' activity.

the game turned out to go quite according to plan, we've created many one-on-one opportunities.
unfortunately, we made none of them count, even though we did manage to keep the scoreline down to one.

although the results have been frustrating, let's hope that U21 Hong Kong will only get better.
and do inform me immediately when you see an U21 HK talent, particularly strikers.

China U-21 got enough luck to win by 1-0.

说要赢中国队还有一点距离,不过一球也进不了就是有点不爽 =P

thanks for your appreciation. and i would say if we're fortunate enough to have a top striker talent our team can really shine. we do have solid creativity in the midfield and a few good tacklers at the back, all we need is to make chances count.

I really scratch my head on why we lost that one, nearly all the chances of the Chinese team are long-ranged shots while ours are clear-cut one-on-ones.

The players in the team, I mean Hong Kong U21, is much better than what I thought, and with such a good tactic, the team deserves at least a draw in the game against China. I'm a bit surprised to see Chi Ting Fung plays a whole match in that position, given his low playmakeer and passing, he played well though apart from being hesitant. I believe wing-back suits him more but of course it's up to you to decide the lineup.

Are you interested in this one?

Chao Yee Hung, age 19
adequate stamina tragic keeper
good pace poor defender
very good technique good playmaker
solid passing unsatisfactory striker

If so, we can talk more about his sale at sk mail.

(RE: Chi Ting Fung) i could explain a bit here. he's the fastest player in our defence. i played him as the innermost defender so that he can act as a cover (as he can catch up quickly enough) if the two nearby defenders are beaten. playing the innermost position normally has lighter burden if the Opp. plays 2 forwards, too.
for why he's not played as a wing-back, it is mainly due to his weak technique and passing. in my game plan wing-backs take corners and are expected to send in deep crosses. some decent crosses had been made in the last game indeed. it was a pity that we lost Chi Hing Yu in the last game due to injury, with his 190 height the aerial threat is obvious.

the next game we're facing deadly wing-attacks, plus a strong keeper at the back.
... somehow, i feel like attacking!
any suggestions?

I suggest you play the last tactic, but with 9 wing-attacks, 6 at the center, 5 and 2 more advanced ..
