I do not understand why Hong Kong U21 can be so unlucky to lose consecutive matches by one goal.

our finishing touches are way too poor ...
any suggestions?

Quality of finishing touch largely depends on luck. I mean the very same player can score like four times in a match but failed to find the net in another with the same opponent under the same setting. It also depends on the level of the opponent's keeper, which cannot be controlled either.

Basically I can think of two ways to improve it, but both ways will sacrifice something else. The first is to field forwards with greater striker skills, but such players usually get poorer skills in other aspects so less shooting chance can be created. The other way is to push the entire team more forward when attacking to invite more ball into the box and less long-ranged shot. That would increase accuracy, but the team will then be prone to counter attacks, and concedes goals much more easily.

about the defense, i suppose the current defensive line has been quite aggressive, do you think that we can push further up? afterall we're not condeding too many goals currently.

Last season, I sometimes followed the matches of Azerbaijan U21 team as one of my players played there. That team was just a bit stronger than Hong Kong, and often yielded good results against formidable opponent through playing high defence. Maybe you can get some inspiration from them.

Nice victory. Fully deserved despite the red card. Azerbaycan, Malaysia, Indonesia are not really formidable opponents. They are stronger than us though, and to beat them, we need some luck, which we often lack.
