Cameroon 4 - HONG KONG 3 Friendly Match

Let say it was not the best start. We lost 4-3 despite them playing almost all game in 10. Very disappointed with defenders we have. They lose the ball so easily and stupidly. Attack was quite ok.

Tactic obviously needs fine tuning. At some interrupted stages we saw some good play by our players but we need form in the mid cause we are lacking so much players there.

This was our first outing so we expect this but we need to work more on some movements and will fine tune that.

We had some positives too but we left Cameroon too much chances and I will mainly concentrate on closing more the defence.

Next week we will start our Mini WC. Our first game vs scotland is going to be extremely difficult since they are much more better than us. Hopefully we will limit the damages and improve drasticcaly on our performance.

So,

as I told you next Saturday we will be starting our adventure in the MINI WC against Scotland. Very difficult match for us but we will do our best. Game booked.

Next week I have a user name Sviktorov from Bulgaria who will be working on a new Database since I dont have access to Atos Database and the other one is giving a lot of issues.

Without a good and updated database we cant work. I hope by the end of the Mini WC we will be able to sort this out and dedicate my time mainly on studying our opponents and preparing tactics.

Hi Adrian yep I noticed that database, looks quiet good but the problem is that with that Pass I cant see the players skills, probably he has a pass for himself so that he is able to see the player skills otherwise it would be useless.

I'm just wondering, in what position does the team most lacking in good players at the moment.

The team has had a long tradition of being poor in the midfield.

Yes the main problems are in the midfield. We lack a lot there. We have plenty of strikers good and young and even defence and keepers I must say we are well covered.

Midfield we really lack at the moment and to get decent mids with good form last saturday was near impossible. In fact I had to improvise some def as mid to compensate.

I am still getting around to get updates so hopefully I manage to get recent updates and find something new.

Hi Friends,

Today we mark our start in the MINI WC. Not an easy game at all since we will be facing Scotland currently rank 31.

I am not expecting a result today but I really hope we get a decent performance and a respectable result.

After our last game against Cameroon, I did some changes and I will be playing mainly top form players even if a bit lower in skills since very low form players are performing like 5 year olds.

I am at least expecting a better performance from last week and the main priority today is that.

I also did some tactical changes to hopefully contain them as much as possible.

Let us hope for the best.

MINI WC - Group Stage - Scotland vs HONG KONG 2-0

Dear friends,

As previously told you today we played against Scotland. Although we lost, as expected after all, since they are rank 31 and ranked 10pts more than us, we played a very good game and I am really satisfied with the performance.

We played really well despite midfield is lacking so much of quality and most of all form.

If we manage to have some luck with the form I am sure we will even be strong there.

I am happy that we played well after not a good performance last week.

It is still a loss but today Hong Kong players came out of the pitch heads high.

Tactic worked quite well. Happy how winger was contained. The basic is going to be around that tactic since it is the best one for the type of players we have.

Great game indeed, and an excellent result.

But I would switch the position of the strikers. Cheng Moore who is short was placed at the far post and possibly because of that he lost some headers against the defenders.

Perhaps You Siu Yuen should play in that position to head balls and Cheng Moore (or other fast players) in the other to chase through balls.

I agree that the strikers should be moved a bit around and I was planning to play the tallest ones. The problem is currently with some of the forms, injuries and suspensions.

I will take your suggestions.

tomorrow we will be playing another MINI WC group match. Another very difficult game against Ireland.

Once again this game we dont really expect a result however we will try our best to try and repeat the display we had last Saturday.

It is not easy but I prepared to try to be compact as much as possible.

Some changes will take effect from last match.

We are still problematic in the mid so hopefully I manage to select the best players to cover that cause that is where we lack most.

Let's hope we continue on the same track as last week.

After these 2 matches we will than be playing to get some results as well and not only getting a good performance.

I am slowly getting to know the players and thus this will eventually help us a lot in the later stage.

MINI WC - Group Stage - HONG KONG vs Ireland 2-2

WOWWWWW we did the surprise......2-2 against a very good team (Rank 45).....I didn't expect that....I hoped for a good performance but a draw never!

Considering I only played 1 pure midfielder and 7 defenders since I had no other options due to form and injuries I must say this is a very good result for us and after the good performance we had last week this is the cherry on the cake.

We risked, yes, but was worth the risk. As I said before the elections better lose 5-3 than 2-0

There are things we need to arrange but overall I am quite satisfied with the performance.

If we manage to get some form in the mid with players like Zhipeng than it will be a different story and we will be more creative since most of our players for a long time did not know what to do with the ball and just kicked it away. This is because the lack of tech and playmaking we had today.

Next week it will be our last match. Another difficult one but hopefully we will again play a good match and hope for the best.

tomorrow we will be playing the last game of the group stage. It is yet again another difficult match against another stronger team Armenia, however the last 2 matches we did very well and hopefully we will once again prove ourselves and put in a nice performance.

Mathematically we have 0.00001% that we can qualify , and since we have that I will still play to try to do it although we know it is almost impossible. We have nothing to lose so!

I will be hoping in a very compact defence and hopefully contain their strong strikers. We are still lacking in mid so there we really need a good performance otherwise we will struggle.

Let us hope for the best!!!

MINI WC - Group Stage - Armenia vs HONG KONG 2-2

Dear friends,

today we had our last match of the group stage of the mini WC against another very strong team Armenia (rank 51)

Yet again another big surprise and another 2-2 draw from the heart! 2 very important draws against 2 top 50 teams which surely will help us in our rankings.

I risked everything today by playing very high (in fact we conceded 3/4 1 vs 1 but our keeper was just DIVINE) but I had too since we had a small chance to pass.

It paid well since we created a couple of chances. We also lost 1 vs 1 ourselves and a through pass not given to clear alone our striker would have even meant a greater surprise!

Funnily enough the 2 goals we conceded were stupid goals. 1 st one their striker dribbled 5 of our defenders one after each other and the 2nd goal was a lost ball stupidly in the mid from Tung.

Considering Zhipeng was only good form, the mid is already showing signs of revival since the tech is now increasing there.

Overall considering that we were playing in one of the strongest groups, getting 2 points , scoring 4 and only conceded 6 goals in 3 matches against 3 top 50 rank I must say we must be very happy with how things are proceeding.

Now we start the friendlies we booked and we will be changing some players and slowly reducing the age average . Lets hope we keep on with this pace.

Excellent result though a little lucky. I think the substitution of Wai Ho was a very good and timely move and led to our late equalizer as his high defender skill caused trouble in the opponent's backline. On the other hand I found Siu Tung played very poorly (he was too hesistant). Not enough playmaking perhaps.

luck is part of the game especially against such team :).

I agree about the sub. Wai Ho has a higher defender (and form) than Zhipeng and was in doubt whom to start. I was going for him but preferred some more quality in mid and that is why I played Zhipeng to hope for some better passing and distribution when the defence is coming out.

In fact we managed to get them once 1 vs 1 like that. It was a choice and played like that. Could be Wai Ho from the start could have helped us more since their def was extremely high like ours and the playing area was reduced and we needed someone to win the ball before.. Siu Tung is a defender but he is the best player we currently have to play there. Maybe I try to change and try someone else in that position and see what happens. Yes it is how you say. he lacks PM and tech.
