This result clearly doesn't matter, as it was decided before the match was played.

But maybe next time, we can try playing 5 defenders in very low defence, mostly in the box and 2 midfielders in the wing-back position (with mid order), one central midfielder, one player on wing and one striker (substitution at 45 min for winger and striker)

Just to see what'll happen as an experiment.

I will give it a try since these games are good to experiment since once in a while you can do the surprise.....for 9 mins I believed .....it faded up by the 13mins!

Friendly Game HONG KONG vs India

VS

Dear friends,

tomorrow we will be playing a friendly match against India.

I will be using second liners to avoid any mishaps for the WCQ so I am not to worried about result and performance. Still we will try to do our best to get the best result.

I will be testing a couple of things in this match too since some of the players are slowly getting old.

Friendly Game HONG KONG vs India 2-2

Not the best of the games. Midfield sucked a bit due to low form. Controlled them quite well though sometimes their winger on the left was running like crazy. Luckily he is an idiot in passing then.

A draw against rank 55 team is always welcome. At the end I think it was a fair result for both Teams.

Next week we will be playing Belgium in the WCQ a very though game. But we will change slightly tactics for that one to see how it goes.

WCQ Match - Group E - HONG KONG vs Belgium

VS

Dear friends,

today we play Belgium who are rank no 8. A very difficult match for us especially since they ve been crushing everyone including an 8-0 vs Latvia and 5-0 vs Sweden. Teams who are much better than us.

I hope we manage to at least avoid a humiliation which believe me watching their matches and players is not an easy task. I did drastic changes in everything so could be we manage , could be we end up like clowns. But this game we have nothing to lose so anything is worth a try.

WCQ Match - Group E - HONG KONG vs Belgium 2-5

Not a bad performance after all. Could have put defence line slightly up cause were too close to teh keeper.

Considering we were 2-2 till the 80min I am very happy especially after the 8-1 against Germany.

Obviously Belgium deserved the win cause they hit the post 4 times and had 2-3 clear chances but Chi Ho and Wai Ho in the mid despite a very horrible form played decently well. If we have them in a better form we will be very strong there. I tool a risk with them and happy I did so.

Pity we conceded the last 2 goals in the last 3 mins cause the loss could have been even more respectable.

5-2 against rank 9 of the World and scoring twice against them is not that bad after all.

Next match is another very difficult one against Sweden. Hope we will have a similar positive performance.

almost.

Low defence is good in the sense that it basically nullify the opponent's ability to play through ball (and force strikers to play passes which they are not very good at as well as taking long shots which have lower chance to succeed). Of course opponents have ways of countering it but it turns out to be a viable tactic.

agree. thanks for the advice btw....part of this result is because of your comments.

WCQ Match - Group E - HONG KONG vs Sweeden

VS

Dear friends,

Their are some changes in the tactic so hopefully it works well.

WCQ Match - Group E - HONG KONG vs Sweeden 0-4

Not much to say about this match. We knew about the result. 4-0 all in all is quite respectable considering they shoot 44 times!

We suffered a lot the lack of form we currently have in mid and att. They did play a strong mid tactic and we lost the mid completely.

I should have avoided Zhipeng playing there in the wing or maybe remove one of the strikers and put another midfielder back to help Chi Ho and Wai Ho, both of them still with forms pretty low.

Han Chi Man form dropped down drastically from lats week and I am worried that he will keep on dropping this season.

We have the same issues with the GK. Zhao is the only gk available at the moment since our top GK is in tragic form.

Next week we will be playing the game that counts, that against Indonesia. This is the only chances we have to try to attack a further place up in the group.

We played a friendly against them only few weeks back and we won. However that means nothing cause on paper they are still better than us so we need to be extremely careful and prepare well.

"I should have avoided Zhipeng playing there in the wing or maybe remove one of the strikers and put another midfielder back to help Chi Ho and Wai Ho"

Definitely agree.

I don't care how much shots are conceded as long as most of them are low-quality long shots from outside the box. But of course, we'll probably do better if we have players of better form and move a striker back to help the midfield.

Anyway, we simply have no chance in these kind of match. It's all about damage limitation. The next two games are the real important games.

agree 100% with you. I usually use such matches to learn from them and once in a while maybe you manage a surprise draw.

Next two matches will determine whether we can do the quality jump or not. Let us hope for the best

WCQ Match HONG KONG vs Indonesia

VS

Dear friends,

tomorrow we will be playing Indonesia in the WCQ group stage.

Although we surprised them in a friendly few weeks ago, it will not be easy especially since we are lacking form drastically.

I changed some things for tomorrow. let us hope it pays.

WCQ Match HONG KONG vs Indonesia 0-4

not much, horrible match. If players decided to act like idiots all the game cant really do much.

We were passing the ball to the strikers when they were offside but when they weren't we were just kicking the ball where it happens.

Defence was a complete disgrace. 2 identical goals 1st and 2nd one. 4th goal was just a gift from Tung to their striker.

Personally today I don't think it was mainly a matter of tactics. I don't know our performance was so horrible. It is not the defeat is the way we lost. We played really really bad. Agbo had 2 chances to run in front. their defender is miles away but was always catching him cause for some reason he was slowing down. The same happened with Zhipeng a couple of times.

Again Tactics can never be perfect but most of the mistakes were due to very poor passing and distribution of the ball rather than the positioning of the players themselves. We were missing passes even in a 2 box range!

We have a return match against Indonesia and we will try to see what went so wrong and why cause today I am very pissed off with this poor performance.

Friendly Game HONG KONG vs Iceland

VS

Dear Friends,

today we will play a friendly match against Iceland. Since we have a very important match next Saturday I will be playing mainly second liners to avoid injuries or suspensions.

Will not take too much care of result since most of the players today are on low forms. Hopefully the NT matches gets them some form up.

Friendly Game HONG KONG vs Iceland 3-3

Not a bad game but not impressed. Still a lot of silly mistakes and bad passing. Today considering the low form of most of the players we still managed a good draw. 2-0 down 3-2 up ...draw fair result

Still cant figure out why passing is so bad and why our players sometimes lack in ding the most logical things. ex 40min first half....in front through pass to one of our striker, all the way clear to beat the keeper and what he does, he shoots from outside the box!

This week will be the great preparation to make up for the bad 4-0 we had last week against Indonesia.
