Del Potro is the next big thing... awsome win :D

In Argentina he was spotted as the next young promise, 4 or 5 years ago, when he was 16, his phisique was really good, and also was his technique. Yesterday he show he also has a very strong mind, cause he lost the first set easily, and that can turn many players down, but he came back to win the second set in a tie break, in the third apparently it was all in favor for him to take it, but at the end he lost it commiting a lot of mistakes, that can turn you down again(mentally), but he didn't surrender, he came back again into the game, again he apparently had the fourth, but Roger(like in the third) took back the break apparently he was gonna take teh match, but Del Potro resurrect again form teh ashes and won another tie break, beating Federer in 2 tie breaks in the same match can tell 1 thing or 2 about how strong in mind this guy is. And in the third he was really in control in the situation, didn't seem he felt any pressure, in fact after losing the first set seems he loosen up and started enjoing just being there(in a GS final) and he started joking and celebrating his points won with the audience, that really help him relax and be able to perform his best tennis.

I think he can become a really good player for all surfaces, he needs to learn to play serve and volley for grass tournaments, he surely has the physique for it, and he is good in clay, most players in Argentina are, and he show he is good in hard surfaces too.

Canas, Gonzalez, Ancic, Ferrero, Ljubicic
You compare those guys to Federer, what a joke.

So same or weaker shot from Federer is better and best just because he is better player xD

Yea del Potro is great. You could see that already in Paris, where he should have beaten Federer already. But I guess you have to say that Federer in finals wasn't able to serve how he usually is able to. If he would have had at least more first serves in, then del Potro would have had quite a lot more problems against him. But he is young, strong and a nice person. I am sure we will see a lot of him again.

Yep, neither of both serve well in the final. Both commit a lot of double faults(Roger a couple more), and Juan Martin had a better percentage of first services, but were't good first services, along the tournament he was scoring 20 or more aces, I don't think he reach 10 in the final, and Roger had a low percentage of first services, but he score a couple more aces than Juan Martin. ;)

Well, aces depend on your enemy (if he can reach the ball it is not an ace), double faults and first service do not.. :) :D
But well both of them had not enough time to regenerate, I guess. Stupid US Open system :)

Service is a very very important part of Federer's game. I think a lot of people underestimate that. Because of his weak service he had more trouble going through his own service games. In his normal gameplan, he wins his service games easily. Because of that, he has energy left to put pressure on opponents game. Because of the pressure, the opponent will have to work harder for their game and Federer gets more easily through his own games. That's basically what happens very often in his matches. In this final, because of Federer's weak service, it turned out to be the other way around.

Looking at Del Potro's amazing forehand (hardest shot in the circuit?), and the way he handled the 2nd service of Federer, I think it's a small miracle we even got to the 5th set. That shows how good Federer really is.

Del Potro deserved to win this tournament. Federer realised this as well, looking at his after match state of mind. Great final mentally, average match in quality :)
