Subject: »[NT fr] during WCQ

The first thing I noticed during the game: every duel on the midfield was lost. eg, the GK kicks the ball and for sure the opponent had the header.

Match couldnt start worse. We were slightly the better team during first minutes, but their first chance was a goal. An easy catchball wasnt kept by Laksono and their striker only had to score from 2m distance.
Just before Half Time they scored a 2nd time after a really weird situation in front of our goal.
With my tactic, in which I played Jati deeper than usual, I tried to get the ball behind their defense, which sometimes worked out well, but only few crosses were of decent quality. Both Krisj and Suheri missed ... not unexpected if you noticed their forms.
Overall, Indonesia didnt play that bad if you see we only gave away 8 chances and created 5 ourselves against a bit stronger opponent. Yet, I hoped to finish this season with a nice result, as we are starting to have a losing streak :s

we'll get them next time :D

tomorrow we face Guatemala :)
We play in Indonesia, so the game is at 9 am, sk time.
A win would be nice after last losses, but still we have a form problem with the strikers ....

After a streak of losses, Indonesia won again.
Guatemala was sent back home with a 3-1 defeat. Suheri scored a clean hattrick, with only hopeless form and not really high striker skill :) Jati gave an assist, had about 2 or 3 chances with 1 vs 1 on GK, but passed instead of give a kick to the ball. Krisj hit the crossbar and the upright ...

About tactics:
we dominated the first hour. At HT, we were up 3-0. After they scored the 3-1, we lost dominance and they became more dangerous. This resulted in a penalty, which they missed. After the missed penalty, they seemed to have lost hope and we could keep the pressure off quite easily.

Tomorrow we play against India. They were also eliminated from the MWC. Their coach is De generaal, a dutch user, who has been their NT coach for several seasons. The player that we should be afraid of most is their striker Ragna, who has ratings of 55+. When we look at Indonesian side, we notice no injuries, but Suheri is suspended after his 3rd red card during last game.

We'll make the best of it :)

We lost 1-0 due to a penalty in 85th minute ... quite upset about it :s

swap player position i guess but than tagor(7) and krisd(11) often too close when in the penalty box, and with india tactic i guess we need an AMC , so in our last match is often krisdj down by him self to the middle finding the ball when our 2 DMC is too deep

Well, certainly we didnt need the winger. Jati's crosses were terrible. I've start the discussion on the NT Staff forum yesterday on what to do with wingers/other positions :)

During the last games (last week against Paraguay and this week against Hayastan) I played with the same tactics. Mainly because I didnt have time to create a brand new one, and this one was quite well suited. We played without a winger and won both times. Paraguay was beaten with 1-0 and during that game both sides missed a penalty. The game wasn't that nice to see. Today we faced Hayastan, a nation with slightly better players and also ranked much higher than us. Our strikers missed lots of shots and Hayastan's first shot was a goal immediately. If you look at the game, you'll wonder why Laksono didnt stop the shot, as it was fired in the centre of the goal. Yet, most of the time, we were dominating, and we had several chances (1 on 1, distance shots) and some chances were blocked at the very end (tackle just before strike, ...). Yet, at half time the score was level again, after a nice pass and dito finishing. 2nd half started like the first one, with Indonesia determining the play. We scored and thus took the lead. After the goal, both sides had some nice occasions. We hit the post, their gk didnt keep hold of a hard shot, ... but Hayastan was also dangerous and Danubrata had to keep us in the lead after Laksono was dribbled. After all, a very deserved win. Man of the Match: Roekita. Dit very nice job by recuperating the ball, dribbling his opponent and then pass to Sukowyono or one of the strikers. Also Sukowyono did great, especially his assist was marvellous.

I'd suggest you all to take a look at the game (as you know, NT games can be watched without PLUS) as it is very entertaining.

hehe, fair enough. I also steal ideas from other coaches ;) And so does every manager.

This Afternoon we play the first of 2 consecutive matches against Shqiperia. They are ranked below us, but if you look at their average player value, it is much higher than ours. Having a closer look, we see that most of their players are in great form, which still can't be said of ours.

Both our topstrikers are still in tragic and hopeless form. Thus I might give Iswantoro a spot in first line up, as his form is rising, and thus he should finish better.
Wayhudi is still slightly injured, so I probably won't risk it to field him. And our other Defender/defensive midfielder, Sujianto is also yet in low form. And don't forget to add Laksono, our young goalkeeper ... but we don't have decent substitutes.
2008-04-12 11:21:07
Just to point out:
GK: 19yo
Defenders that start: All 21yo or younger!
2008-04-12 12:32:36
1-1 after 90 minutes and after 120 minutes
5-4 loss after penalties

I apologise for a wrong substitution. Roekita should have played on Jati's position, not on Kabagaimu's ... I took the conditional orders from last week, changed names, but forgot to check the position.

Today we won the 2nd match against Shqiperia. Hoping they would play more or less the same tactic, I created a new one myself, trying to anticipate on their tactic.
- Moved defensive line a bit higher
- Moved wingbacks more to centre + bit higher than central defs (they mostly attacked through the heart of our defense last week)
- Used a defensive midfielder and 3 central/attacking midfielders, instead of no defensive mids
- ... and more ;)
This resulted in being slightly the better team, though both sides' defense kept it well. Indonesia had a bit better chances, but only few. After 90 minutes, the game was still goalless, and once again, there were prolongations to be played. These I did not watch, as I had an appointment with my dentist, so from minute 90 on, I can't give my view. Will do that later, when I rewatched the game. Anyway, after 120 minutes, nothing changed in the score, so, just like last game, penalties had to tell who would win this game. This time, luck was at our side, as Suheri, Wahyudi and Roekita scored 3 penalties, and Shqiperia only marked 1.
