Those are good MIDs for their age and will help in the future :) But at the moment they just not yet good enough for NT.

Hayastan - Bulgaria 1:3
As feared, it was a matter of quality today. We lost so many balls in midfield, what caught our DEFs in bad position sometimes. And when their strikers were in front, they were (unlike ours) hardly to stop. We were never far inferior (7-13 shots), but also never good enough to steal a point. It has become clear that a 24y like Geroyan can't yet cope with NT level, although he is a good MID for his age. I hope we'll have decent options available again when we face Moldova. The games against Senegal and Nippon meanwhile will be tough enough anyway.

Hayastan - Ukraina 0:0
Not a bad result for our U27 youngsters, considerung Ukraina had some older players in the lineup. Still I expected my tactic to work somewhat better. Also due to form issues our very young midfield (Geroyan, Charikyan, Levyan) could not yet fulfil the tasks. But we can surely enjoy them in a few seasons time :) Next up in the WCQ is Sénégal, who showed their potential with a 5-0 against Slovenija. But we have to collect the 3 points no matter what.

Decent performance with record rating of 75 (this is pretty much the limit though) which secures the next 3 points. After the red card an penalty after 30 minutes I feared the game could turn. But we were still dominating despite being a man down. Not as superior in the back as planned, but Piloyan was there when needed. Up front we did well, the tactic worked a bit better as in the match last week.
Next up is Nippon, again 3 points is a must, but no team in this group can be underestimated.

Nippon - Hayastan 1:3
Sorry for this ugly match.. tactic was not the best, but besides that everything went wrong ridiculously. Defenders stumbled around until they lost the ball, MIDs played perfect passes to the opponents. Strikers couldn't hold the ball. And then the second tactic got of course messed up with the injury of Malkhasyan (again..). I think we're lucky to still have won the game. Joker Tabanyan saved the day :) Now we're still in touch with the top 2. Next games against Moldova will be crucial.

Sorry for this ugly match.. tactic was not the best, but besides that everything went wrong ridiculously. Defenders stumbled around until they lost the ball, MIDs played perfect passes to the opponents. Strikers couldn't hold the ball. And then the second tactic got of course messed up with the injury of Malkhasyan (again..). I think we're lucky to still have won the game. Joker Tabanyan saved the day :) Now we're still in touch with the top 2. Next games against Moldova will be crucial.

At least a point, I think it's not a stolen one. I had the impression that we were the slightly better team in the first half or even for the first 60 minutes or so. Then Moldova got some really good chances, but mostly due to horrible mistakes by our players. Anyway, it keeps us in the race for 2nd place. But we will need a win over Moldova or Bulguria to make it.

This was an U27 match. Our game wasn't too bad.. both team were pretty efficient. Again I think it's a fair result, considering the 2:2 by Bolivia was a ridiculous long shot. Some of the youngsters definitely have potential. Charikyan, Geroyan and Shalunts will play in the first team someday. Malkhasyan and Devoyan already did that.

We had the game under control at every time and created a lot of good opportunities. In the second half, we could or should have scored even more goals I think :)
Anyway, it's still status quo in the group. If we win all 3 games maybe.. but against Bulgaria this is almost a mission impossible. Next stop is Senegal, who have improved over the past weeks. Let's see what that match brings.

Good performance against a slightly better team. Our strikers were insanely efficient though, they converted nearly every good chance to a goal. I think Bolivia could as well have got a draw from this match. Their wing was a menace for us, luckily he doesn't seem so well at crossing. I hope we saved some luck for the upcoming clash against Bulgaria anyway!
By the way, with this victory we enter - at least temporarily - a new top position in the ranking. Rank 37 it is! :)

Still disappointed.. in this game the efficiency was against us. I still think the tactical approach was right. Of course we relied on a lucky punch up front. But in the back the first tactic was extremely solid. We kept it 1-0 for a long time, and even that goal was not forced by Bulgaria. The defenders did a great job. After the change to a more risky tactic and the usual injury for Malkhasyan, everything went down the drain even though we scored finally. On a lucky day (which we need one or two in the campaign as a 3rd pot team), we could win this match. I think I provided the engine a chance to let it run in our favour, unfortunately it wouldn't take it :)
Last match against Slovenija isn't really important now, it will be 3rd place anyway. I still hope for a good finish. But we have some issues in midfield with Manasyan suspended, Malkhasyan injured and Darbinyan out of form, so it will be difficult.

This weekend we had a great game against Norge. Finally a win against a top shot opponent (former world champion) and finally (for me) a win against Norge after 5 or so failed attempts with Schweiz, Shqipëria and Hayastan. Result is absolutely deserved I think, we did a lot of pressure over our wing side and Kalenyan was always dangerous.
