Next week we're going to play against ROMANIA. A really tough opponent, with a very good coach. Probably we have few chances in order to achieve a good result at the end of this match, but our purpose is to see where we are at the moment . And when I say that I mean players, tactical ideas and so on...Let's hope we won't be too disappointed at the end of the 90 minutes. Let's have faith in our boys! As I'm concerned, I trust them a lot.:)
Now, as you probably got used to this ,except the last week when I was extremely busy, here's this week geography-history lesson: :)))

FACTS ABOUT ROMANIA:

Romania (dated: Rumania, Roumania; Romanian: România, IPA: [ro.mɨˈni.a]) is a country located in South-East Central Europe, North of the Balkan Peninsula, on the Lower Danube, within and outside the Carpathian arch, bordering on the Black Sea.[2] Almost all of the Danube Delta is located within its territory. It shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the northeast, and Bulgaria to the south.
Romania has the 9th largest territory and the 7th largest population (with 22 million people[3]) among the European Union member states. Its capital and largest city is Bucharest (Romanian: Bucureşti /bu.kuˈreʃtʲ/ (help·info)), the 6th largest city in the EU with almost 2.2 million people. In 2007, Sibiu, a large city in Transylvania, was chosen as a European Capital of Culture.[4] Romania also joined NATO on March 29, 2004, and is also a member of the Latin Union, of the Francophonie and of OSCE.

PREHISTORY AND ANTIQUITY

The oldest modern human remains in Europe were discovered in the "Cave With Bones" in present day Romania. The remains are approximately 42,000 years old and as Europe’s oldest remains of Homo sapiens, they may represent the first such people to have entered the continent. The remains are especially interesting because they present a mixture of archaic, early modern human and Neanderthal morphological features.

VLAD III THE IMPALER

Born November 8, 1431
Sighişoara, Transylvania
Died 14 December 1476 (age 45)
Bucharest, Wallachia

Vladislav III, called "Vlad the Impaler" (that is, Vlad Ţepeş, pronounced [ˈtsepeʃ] in Romanian; also known as Vladislav Dracula or simply Dracula, in Romanian Drăculea; November/December 8, 1431 – December 1476), was a Wallachian (Romanian) voivode (nobleman). His three reigns were in 1448, 1456–1462, and 1476. Vlad the Impaler is known for the exceedingly cruel punishments he imposed during his reign. In the English-speaking world, Vlad III is best known for inspiring the name of the eponymous vampire in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula.[B]
[B]As prince, Vlad maintained an independent policy in relation to the Ottoman Empire, and in Romania he is viewed by many as a prince with a deep sense of justice and a defender of Wallachia against Ottoman expansionism.

Bran Castle built in 1212, is commonly known as Dracula's Castle and is situated in the centre of present-day Romania. In addition to its unique architecture, the castle is famous because of persistent myths that it was once the home of Vlad III Dracula.

Will be a really interesting match. The aim must be to get less than 10 goals I think. Because I don't believe our players are enough good to make them problems!

But perhaps you Rafa can show me, that I'm wrong!
2008-03-23 11:55:32
That's what I'm trying to do. I hope I'll handle this task well.:)
