Subject: [NT Marco van Basten]

Hi there,

i would like to offer my help for the Maltenese National Team. The last two seasons i played with Ajax Amsterdam at the highest league in the Netherlands with the weakest team (rating), so all depends on tactical skills. This season i put my money on the cup, and i did win this.

i would like to get some NT experience for at least the next two season at Malta and get Malta to a higher position in ranking. So if you like to give me this opportunity, please put your vote.

If you have any questions please ask in this forum.

(edited)
How are you going to scout for NT palyers and to get their skills?
I wrote some questions for you , can you please answer them

Did you ever have been NT coach before ?
If yes in which country ?
What success did you have with NT's ?
What type of strategy are you gonna use?
What about you tactics ?
Do you know how to do a video of your tactics that you are going to use for the NT matches ?
If no, how can you share your tactics with Maltese staff , if there would be maltese staff?
Can you tell us if you have any intentions to choose Maltese staff?

Good luck
If possible, i will use the Maltese NT Database for this. But it is necessary it is updated. I will ask all Maltese sokker managers to help me with this. It's for a good purpose ;-)

Besides i use my own spreadsheet i use for evaluation of players and their position depending the choosen tactic. So i like to be informed about all training progress.

I have made four basic tactics i can use, which depends on the opponent. This basic tactic will be optimised and renamed especially for the opponent.

It also depends on players skills where to position. An easy example: a striker with high scoring abilities but weak playmaking, technique and/or passing will be put more deep than another striker. So it's possible that various players will join the NT based on need.

I would like to keep the current scout and tactical advisors in helping with both (up to date database and tactical reviews) this job

When this picture is clear, we can also help managers give their NT players the right training. Of course the U21 squad is very important, so i like to have close contact with that BC.
U21 nt coach will be fsoler again, therefore you can start talking with him!!!
Did you ever have been NT coach before ?
>>> never! but i have been asked for the U21 NT of the Netherlands because of my succes in the competition the last seasons and in the cup.

What type of strategy are you gonna use?
>>> of course it depends ;-) but generally i'm not that offensive. I like a solid defense, using wings with one or two strikers. I think it makes you have more chances against stronger teams. But against weaker teams we can substitute one defensive position with mid or att.

What about you tactics ?
>>> as stated in my other answer, i have four basic tactics perfectly balanced for every position. This can be discussed with staff every match to have the perfect answer for the opponent.

Do you know how to do a video of your tactics that you are going to use for the NT matches ?
>>> yes!

If no, how can you share your tactics with Maltese staff , if there would be maltese staff?
>>> there will be :-) can't do without it and it makes the games more fun.

Can you tell us if you have any intentions to choose Maltese staff?
>>> i have no experience with Maltese staff so i have to trust on everyones input on this. My intention is to be elected not only this season, so it will be a better staff-team every season. I hope we can learn from each other.
I like your answers mate!

Maybe you can help me a bit mate!

I ahve the thoughest game ever this week in the Champions cup against a very powerful team!

What are you suggestions for me?
i will have a look at this this evening and send you a pm ok?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH... to let you know that i have my best attacker and my best defender with red cards LOL

Good luck for the elections.....as i told you in the pm i sent you I have to wait for more contestents so that I evaluate better.

I just have some small questions .

1) What are the main "realistic" targets for Malta NT you are aiming to reach next season if given this job?
2) How many staff are you planning to have in your "team" and if you plan to have maltese staff have you already targeted potential people to help you since after the elections that will be a bit difficult to find.
haha i noticed ;-)

thank you for your information in the pm!

1) the main realistic targets will be to win all matches against countries lower in rating or place at the world ranking list AND at least to win 1/4th of matches against 'better' countries. This can be realistic using the proper tactics. i think it's fair to ask this from the future BC.

2) i like to have active sokker managers in the staff. It would be good to have Maltese managers for this and it would be good if they will show their interest (in this topic or in pm). I also have one experienced dutch tactical advisor in the background if this will fail or be necessary.

Question back: how do you manage to be succesful for U21 and what do you advise for the NT?
To be honest, i think it's a good job for Malta if there would be a Maltese BC. I also recommend this in the Netherlands. Otherwise, i think i can make the difference in tactical view, but that's up to you people.
