we should arrange all friendlies directly after 20th of december to have a decent playlist. Then we can see if this problem occurs and see what to do. I agree that ranking has more benefits in the future for the real tournements.

from past experience I prefer we eneter the Mini WC after all we did well with U21 why shouldn't we do well as well in Mini WC for senior teams?

What you also can do is make a kind of mini tournament with 'only' weak teams. Then your are sure that we can go for a good ranking and it's more fun then just only friendlys. I don't like the idea of doing 14 weeks friendlys. It's just boring and the risk is to high that other NT coaches wouldn't accept our invation; if they know that they can play the mini tournament.. they will probally cancel our game.

We can have a look at the participants later and decide whether or not to join. For now it might be save to say we do join?

I think you need to make a decision soon what you want to do, because you wouldn't have much time when you become NT coach. Most managers will start making there schedule at the sunday night when they know the results.

When I was NT coach of Nederland I mailed the candidates of some countrys that had a big chance of winning the elections. So I was sure that we could play a little tournament of 4 teams when I become NT coach. Don't know what you'll do, but my advice is if you want to have a good schedule with teams that you want.. yeah, then you need to be fast :)

i think we should let MVB decide what he thinks it is best for the team!

we now know the targets and if they are not reached we then know what to do!! find another NT coach!

i think that with our vote we gave him the right to decide for the team, as long as the targets are reached, so now we have to let him work as he thinks and not telling him step by step what to do!!

Lubru this is not a matter of vote or not or have anything to do with targets...it is the matter of whether we are going to participate in the Mini-WC or not. When we did not participate, joe had difficulties in finding friendlies during the Mini-WC time cause nowadays almost all countries apply and participate. If we stay out we will find it difficult to find friendlies and probably we will end up playing with the same teams.

If you want to put it that way, than I have a question for our NT....are you going to participate in the Mini WC?

i think it's best to keep close contact to mini WC. Iwan is arranging this. Parallel we make a list of desired opponents and keep this against mini WC competitors. We can see if there are many of these countries joining.

what i wanted to say is that as long that Malta has every thing planned and play all games possible, for me id does not matter if in the mini wc or friendlies!! i just want the best for our country!!

but that is your opinion ...my opinion is different :)
