A Reliable Guardian of the Goal: Just Campos

For 30-year-old goalkeeper Just Campos, football has been a journey of passion and dedication, culminating in his status as the backbone of Andorra’s national team. With a career marked by steady growth and unwavering focus, Campos has established himself as a reliable last line of defense, both at home and abroad.

Transfer History

Campos’s football story began at Torb in Andorra, where he first learned the art of goalkeeping. His raw talent and determination were quickly noticed, leading to his landmark move to Outbreakers in Bulgaria. This transfer, valued at a record-breaking 4 000 000 $—the highest fee in his career—marked the first major chapter of his professional journey.

From there, Campos’s career took him to Dream Theater F.C in Brazil, followed by a stint with KLABZUBOVA 11 in the Czech Republic. Today, he proudly defends the goal for Kucke sa Medaka in Serbia, continuing to build his legacy across the globe.

National Team

Campos’s contributions to the Andorran national team have been nothing short of vital. With 57 caps to his name—including 18 matches and 1,542 minutes under head coach MTK’s leadership—he has stood as a steadfast presence between the posts.

Although he has yet to find the back of the net or register an assist, his influence is felt in every save, every shout of direction, and every point secured during the most recent World Cup qualifiers. Widely recognized as the best goalkeeper in Andorra when he’s in top form, Campos has pulled off countless incredible saves that kept his nation’s dreams alive.

Off the pitch, Campos is known as a friendly figure who enjoys winding down with a game of chess in the evenings. Yet when the whistle blows, he becomes a fierce competitor, a leader who commands the defensive line with authority and unwavering confidence.

In a world of constant change, Just Campos remains a reassuring constant for Andorran fans—proof that true class, determination, and quiet leadership never go out of style.

Andorra Hold Canada to Goalless Draw

Week 13: Andorra - Canada0:0 (0:0)
Stadium: Principat d'Andorra, Attendance: 7356

Starting XI – Andorra

GK: Just Campos
DEF: Juli Major, Eusebi Triquell, Crístian Abulí, Joan Ramon Fans, Pere Oliva
MID: Benet Salvà, Joaquim Gasto, Gustau Pean
ATT: Martí Sot, Bartomeu Ginestà

Substitutes:

Nicolau Puig-arnal (58'), Hèctor Alibert (60'), Marià Pararols (65'), Maties Aribau (72'), Llorenç Faugerat (72')

Match Highlights:

In a friendly encounter at the Principat d'Andorra stadium, Andorra battled to a hard-earned 0:0 draw against Canada in front of 7,356 fans. The match was played under a clear, warm Saturday morning sky, adding a sense of calm to the fierce contest on the pitch.

From the start, Andorra took a conservative approach, focusing on defensive organization and limiting Canada’s attacking opportunities. Just Campos commanded his penalty area confidently, collecting crosses and snuffing out any attempts that came his way. In defense, Crístian Abulí and Eusebi Triquell stood firm, closing down space and forcing Canada’s attackers to the flanks.

Although Andorra struggled to create clear chances on the break, their resilience in front of goal kept the visitors frustrated. A key moment came when Joan Ramon Fans was forced off the field following a knock. Thankfully, early assessments showed it was a minor issue, and he’s expected to return to training immediately. His replacement, Nicolau Puig-arnal, slotted in seamlessly, helping maintain the compact defensive structure.

As the game wore on, the coach made several substitutions, bringing on fresh legs and energy to preserve the team’s defensive shape. In attack, Marti Sot and Bartomeu Ginestà worked tirelessly to find gaps, but Canada’s high defensive line proved tough to crack. Ultimately, neither side could find a breakthrough, leaving the match goalless – but it was Andorra’s organization and determination that stole the spotlight.

General Comment:

Although Canada entered the match as the clear favorite, Andorra impressed with a solid team rating of 69.8 and a resilient defensive display. Just Campos stood out with his composure in goal, while Joaquim Gastó’s return to form was a highlight for the home fans.

Andorra’s inability to break through Canada’s high defensive line meant they had to focus on defensive work, successfully neutralizing Canada’s attacks and leaving the visitors frustrated. The team’s next challenge will be another friendly against Spain before the start of the World Cup qualifying campaign, offering another chance to test their growing confidence against strong opponents.

Andorra Midfielder Montcada Retires from International Duty

At 34 years of age, Jofre Montcada has announced the end of his international career. The experienced midfielder represented his country 72 times, scoring once and registering two assists for the national team.

Montcada did not feature at all in seasons 72 and 73, though he remained a part of the extended squad under head coach MTK. Ultimately, the decision by the coach not to call him up for further matches brought Montcada’s international journey to a close. His final appearance for Andorra came at the end of season 71, in a match against Daehan Minguk.

Citing age and a decline in his abilities to compete at the highest level, Montcada accepted that it was the right time to step aside. The Andorran Football Federation expressed its gratitude, thanking Montcada for his years of dedicated service and commitment to the national team.

With 72 caps to his name, Montcada leaves behind a legacy as a player who consistently demonstrated hard work, discipline, and an unwavering love for the game.

Young Midfielder Adam Massana Earns First Senior National Team Call-up

In a move that underlines the exciting future of Andorran football, 22-year-old midfielder Adam Massana has earned his first senior national team call-up. Massana, who plies his trade in Poland, has long been on the radar of the national selectors, thanks to his consistent performances and impressive work ethic.

Massana currently plays under the watchful eye of manager Prezes123 at his Polish club, where he has developed into a disciplined and creative midfield presence. His rise has been steady, beginning with a successful spell in the U21 squad, where he racked up 36 appearances, contributing one goal and one assist. While he is yet to make his debut for the senior side, national team coach MTK has clearly seen enough to believe Massana could become an important part of the team’s future.

For Massana, this opportunity represents both recognition and motivation. While he is under no illusions about the challenge ahead, his inclusion in the squad is a sure sign that Andorra’s national team is keeping a close eye on its promising young talents abroad. Fans will be watching closely to see if Massana can turn this chance into a permanent place in the team — and perhaps, in time, become one of Andorra’s central midfield stalwarts.

Overall Manager comment:

As MTK enters his second season as head coach of the Andorran national football team, signs of progress and renewed belief continue to emerge. In a dramatic EURO qualifying campaign, Andorra came heartbreakingly close to advancing from the group stage — with everything decided in the final matchday. While the team ultimately fell short, the performance is being hailed as a major step forward, especially considering that Andorra was drawn from Pot 5 out of 6 in the seeding.

This season, the team not only solidified the foundation laid last year but even managed to improve its international ranking. That accomplishment is particularly noteworthy given the level of opposition: Andorra faced eight matches against higher-ranked teams, a formidable challenge that required grit, resilience, and tactical discipline to secure valuable points.

Statistically, there was an increase in total shots on goal, highlighting a more attacking mindset and improved build-up play. However, goal conversion was an area of concern, as the team struggled to capitalize on chances — largely due to the lack of form among the strikers throughout the campaign. On the other side of the pitch, consistency came from the defensive line, led by ever-present figures Juli Major, Joan Ramon Fans and Cristina Abuli. Both played in every single match and were instrumental in organizing the back line and providing leadership on and off the pitch.

This season also marked a significant phase in the team’s generational transition. Four players made their senior debuts after recently graduating from the U21 squad, a promising sign for the future of Andorran football.

Coach MTK expressed his gratitude at the end of the campaign:

“I want to thank the entire Andorran community for their continuous support and for playing a key role in developing our young players. Your encouragement makes a difference.”

Though qualification slipped away in the final moments, there’s no doubt that under MTK’s leadership, Andorra is building a team with both heart and potential — one that could surprise even more in seasons to come.

Juli Major Named Captain of Andorra's National Team

In a moment that many fans will remember for years to come, Juli Major officially began his journey as captain of Andorra’s national football team during today’s opening match of the World Cup qualifiers. The decision, however, was not made behind closed door. It came straight from the hearts of the Andorran Sokker community.

When Major walked out onto the field today with the captain’s armband wrapped firmly around his sleeve, it marked more than just the start of a new qualifying journey. It signaled a shift in how Andorra views leadership—grounded in community, transparency, and trust.

"It’s an unbelievable honor," Major said in a post-match interview. "To be chosen by the people, by the fans who live and breathe this game with us - it means everything. I’ll do everything I can to lead with pride, unity, and heart."

Dominant Start: Andorra Crushes Slovenia 5–1

Week 03: Slovenija - Andorra1:5 (1:1)
Stadium: Slovenija Arena, Attendance: 24632

Starting XI – Andorra

GK: Oleguer Boix
DEF:Juli Major, Joan Ramon Fans, Crístian Abulí, Nicolau Puig-arnal,Pere Oliva
MID: Joaquim Gasto, Marià Pararols, Benet Salvà
ATT: Maties Aribau, Carles Jordana

Substitutes:

Joan Ramon Vagué (55'), Eusebi Triquell (61'), Genisa Acosta (65'), Gustau Pean (70'), Hèctor Alibert (70')

Match Highlights:

A chilly, moderately overcast Saturday morning at the Slovenija Arena brought together 24,632 fans to witness a remarkable opening performance from Andorra in their Euro qualification campaign. The visitors overturned an early deficit to secure a dominant 5–1 victory over hosts Slovenia.

Slovenia struck first, but Andorra responded before the break with a goal from Maties Aribau in the 25th minute. The equalizer shifted momentum and set the tone for the rest of the match.

At halftime, Andorra made a key tactical adjustment—switching to a three-central-midfielder formation and dropping the wide winger. The move provided better defensive stability and greater control in the middle of the pitch.

The second half belonged entirely to Andorra. Substitute Joan Ramon Vagué gave them the lead in the 56th minute. Then came a remarkable 25-minute hat-trick from Genís Acosta (67’, 70’, 86’), who entered the game in the 65th minute and completely dismantled the Slovenian defense.

Joaquim Gastó stood out with high activity on the left wing and contributed one assist, while Marià Pararols and Benet Salvà also added assists. The team’s overall performance earned them an average rating of 71.8—their highest since Season 72 against Portugal.

A downside to the otherwise stellar performance was the injury to Carles Jordana, who will be out for approximately 13 days and is expected to miss the next two national team fixtures.

General Comment:

This match was viewed as a must-win, given Slovenia’s lower seeding, and Andorra delivered confidently. The halftime tactical shift demonstrated the strategic insight of manager MTK, who expressed strong satisfaction with his squad’s response and dominance.

With three points secured in style, Andorra now turns its attention to a tougher test ahead—facing Scotland in the upcoming World Cup qualifier.
