With no SEO despite the traffic this game gets it is impossible to get new players. The key to an online game is to be found on search engines. Now for search engines matter 3 facts:
1. On page SEO - it is important for the search engine to know what the page is about in order to match it to the users searches. With no headers, inappropriate titles and lots of low quality links the engine can not identify this website as an online football manager.
2. Back-links - Search for the term Google Bomb - Obama....or even better "Click here"
When you search for click here...the first result is get adobe flash player...because many websites have put a link for the users to get Flash Player by saying (anchor) click here.
3. Traffic - this website gets loads of traffic but that traffic is not relevant to the search engine because it can not say what the website is about.
A bit of SEO would make Sokker Manager get around 300.000 new users each year.
football manager - gets 200.000 unique searches each month while
online football manager - gets another 135.000
soccer manager - gets a trilling 1.220.000
The NR 1 in search results are :
For soccer manager:
www.soccermanager.com - with a Page Authority of 54, 4029 back-links and 47 Domain Authority
For football manager:
www.footballmanager.com - PA 61, 20.269 back-links and DA 53.
For online football manager:
en.onlinesoccermanager.com/Login - PA 28, 7 back-links, DA 36.
Now because the first two are also a match on domain name ...are pretty hard to beat.
The third however gets 135.000 searches and just so you know SOKKER (because of its traffic and old domain) has: PA 57, 2.859 back-links and DA 49. This means that by doing a bit of SEO to target the search online football manager ...you would easily get the first position...getting over 65% of the clicks - that is 87.750 new visitors each month - if you convince with your content 10% to join you get 105.300 new users each year...that is a hell of a game.
But I said all this to the devs and they did not even read my sk-mail...so all that SEO expertise (free) is put to no use at all.
Conclusion...if the game dies its because the developers don't want to make a lot of money out of it. :))

I have tried to explain this to them in the past. I knew things could be improved, but I don't know that much about it to really explain what should be done. So great to finally see the text of all the things I tried/wanted to explain to them. Hope it will help :)
