Subject: »7170 managers in Sokker!

2014-09-17 17:29:29
Its not just about inviting new managers its also about making them stay. Sokker take too much time for newbie to set up until the game actually enjoyable. I think the dev should raise the skill floor of players when managers receive a new team to cut the unnecessary time

New managers can buy a young trainable team for less then 100K and play normal matches :) They just have to know what to do, that's why a good tutorial or even ingame tutorial could solve part of the problems. The other part can be solved by visiting the forum, and find a mentor/tutor to ask all questions. Ofcours this have to be told to new managers and that can be done on the national forum (use sticky forums).

* Transferlist keepers
* Transferlist defenders
* Transferlist midfielders
* Transferlist strikers

And in germany they only need about a year or two to get to the competetive level.

That's the overall problem of Sokker. Older managers still play this game and they are really too strong for new managers. But if you give new managers a good team, the fun of training and becoming stronger is gone right away.

An option is to make matches against botteams a lot more interesting, for example botteams using different tactics, like humanteams also do. At the moment new managers always play against the same tactic, that's really boring and no challange at all. Make 1 tactic which can beat this tactic and all fun of having a serious competition is gone.

So things have to be made more fun again, with the knowledge many teams are botteams and the gap between new managers and old managers is really large. Many countries are reduced to less divisions, that was not to smart because now managers get stuck in bottom leagues and need way too long before they can finally promote. Better is to have 1 or more extra divisions eventhough these are botdivisions. But with more challanging botteams it can have a positive effect because managers can promote again. The current situation isn't working at all as we know by now.

for modern kids standards 1-2 years is already too long...
2014-09-18 09:21:04
most users don't want a challenge while playing bots

they expect to win easily and cry on forum that they lost vs bot/cannot beat a bot and promote to higher league

Match engine is garbage on lower level, you need to have 70 mark to get it working properly... If you are new and you make below 40 mark match engine seems like broken, thats why nobody new stays...

I don't agree. Even with my junior matches all seems fine. I need to speed up the match because with normal speed players move too slow for me, but that's the only thing and that will improve with pace training.

Like always, some say this is a problem, others say that is a problem.

Maybe this can be changed when it is more normal to lose from bots. I mean, when people play FIFA they will also lose from non-human controled teams and that is considered normal. So why should it be any different with Sokker :)
2014-09-18 13:13:13
I've been playing this game for more than 6 years now. And i still cant find that goddamned rewind button...
2014-09-18 14:03:44
my opinion is simple

Main issues:

1. New players do not understand the game (they just don't know what they should do first and what are the rules for example of making a good tactic)
2. There is no promotion of sokker.
3. It takes to much time to get to some medium level and play enjoyable games
4. Week in sokker is to boring, there have to be some other activities available, even if it would be useless for the club.

Solutions:

1. If new players do not know how to start their adventure with sokker, just make the tutorial. Do not give them all money from the beginning, make them complete some tasks (what will teach them how to play) and reward them with cash for every comleted one. Simple.

2. Promotion of sokker should be the last point in fact, because we have to improve sokker at first, and then promote finished product. Of course it has to be done smart, on relevant websites.

3. For the points 3 and 4 i only see one solution. Provide more useless attractions. When i posted some ideas on polish forum made for new ideas, i got some unfavorable responds. Many people were complaining like "I don't need this", "I would not use this", "old-fashioned sokker is the best, there is no point of changing that" etc... But these guys are playing sokker for years, of course they do not need changes... they're addicted like i am, so there is no need to invent new attractions for them. But we have to think about newbies, they are mostly kids... they need exciting activities day by day in online game. For example arcade games, it was a great step, but we need more. Maybe some inside games? I mean that if you had 22 players in your team, you could arrange the training game for them. it would not affect the training or anything but it would be fun for users. Another idea? Maybe games against other users with made up, fake teams? For example you just get 600 skills to distribute around the team for that one game, your opponent has to do the same. In this way even a newbie can have a chance to challange some top user and test his tactic skills. Of course there can be more ideas, but we have to make sokker more attractive.

Point 1 is already done, they get somekind of 'tutorial' send to them automatically. But this is not really well made if you ask me.

And for the promo part, there are managers who have the job of promotor, but it doesn't look like many of them are still taking their job seriously. It looks like the star has become more important as the actual job + responsibilities.

Tutorial? what tutorial? rules and FAQ send via sk@? they need to complete tasks to learn by practice. Nobody likes to read at the beginning of the game

Well, i agree that Promotors do not do their job in a appropriate way, but i also do not know their powers given by Dev's... to advertise sokker you need money... i doubt that they are allowed to spend some money from the revenues of sokker for advertising...
2014-09-18 14:19:18
This is what is send to them, as I said, not well made. That's why I also send another very short welcome mail to new managers with some important links, and this tutorial How to get started with Sokker tutorial. Unfortunatly many managers never come back again to see that mail :/

Anyway, this is send to new managers (don't even try to read it with an tablet or smartphone, the changing pictures on a laptop are already unreadable small)

well ok, i appreciate your work, it looks great... but there's waaaay to much reading:( of course it's better then nothing and if somebody wants to play sokker realy hard, he will read this carefully, but when it comes to kids.... they will ignore that, they do not consider reading as a part of fun, and what is more most of them do not even undestand english... it has to be done in modern way, step by step, like for example on www.imperiaonline.org/, register and check out their fun, enjoyable tutorial, no reading, just practice, we have to do the same in sokker

tutorial has to be united part of the game and registration... if they want to play, they need to pass the tutorial, they will understand the game this way, and if they understand the game, they will not get bored so fast
