maybe use simple video tutorial on youtube?

ok but it has to be in every languague, so impossible... and second, most important thing is that tutorial should be a part of fun, can't you guys see that? what's fun about reading some long tutorial or about watching tutorial on YT where someone is showing you what to do...?? there is only 50% or less that this person will read/watch it, even lower chance for that he's gonna understand it, and much much lower chance that he will continue to play sokker. it should be a part of the game;] with rewards etc, when you're doing live, ingame tutorial, you're already playing !! you're being naturaly introduced to the game, and rewarded for that. This is realy huge difference.

I don't think you can make a shorter tutorial as this How to get started with Sokker tutorial without the most important parts of Sokker, incl links, videos and warnings.

The only other way is indeed an ingame tutorial but that won't happen as greg doesn't want to give new managers to much info how to play this game. Every manager has to find out Sokker his/her own way, that's what I understoot of greg's opinion about tutorials and ingame tutorial.

EDIT: and I understand your fun part, I fully agree, but new managers have to read some info, that's just how it is when you start to play a completely new game. If you buy some new PS game and start playing without reading some info, you will find out that some things are impossible to find out, certain button combinations for example.

well.... maybe if you buy an action game;) but this is more like a strategy game, in this kind of games there is often intruduction and then campaign where you learn several things step by step, you don't play with all options from the beginning ;) so it's more usefull also for sokker and you can introduce this kind of tutorial here, it's not impossible

A good tutorial video would be nice :) There are some on Youtube already, but all with old layout. A new tutorial, or a number of short tutorials put together in 1 Youtube channel would be great.

And if setting are English with only some really short text popups in the video that most people will understand, like 'do this xxxxx' and 'do that xxxxx' then it should work well enough. And if those who watch the video don't understand any English, they can still see what the person in the video is doing and then it becomes 'follow exactly the visual instructions' :) I have learned some things with programs without any popup text or spoken language, only by soing the same as the person was showing me in the video.

Some short tutorial videos could be: make a tactic, make a line up, buy and sell player, fire and buy/recruit coach (maybe a different video for head coach and assistant/junior coach), rebuild stadium the right way, place an friendly ad and invite teams directly.
Put all these short video tutorials in 1 Sokker channel and you have a nice and complete tutorial :)

Ofcourse keep in mind a tutorial is made for new managers so useless to buy some 100K players and brilliant coaches. Important is to show how to buy good but affordable players that can still be trained (for example: all new players with limited pace so that can be the first training for the first 15 or 20 weeks, and buy/recruit an unearthly pace head coach + high stamina).


EDIT: in the How to get started with Sokker tutorial (STEP 4. Tactic and line-up) you can find 2 videos, tactic and line-up, that I have used from Youtube :) They are old, but still handy and useable. But some new updates would be great.

they're addicted like i am, so there is no need to invent new attractions for them

Sokker in a nutshell... Only people who cant delete the team they have been working on for several years keep playing this game.
If I lost my team 3 years ago I would have started again, that is not the case now...

Any clue why?

For my point of view, sokker is the only manager game for me. The reason is surely the tactical part and the match engine.
I have tried to get many of my friends to PLAY, but they are more into Top eleven manager on the mobile. i think what most people care about is the grafics and the ability to only use the mobile app.... maybe sokker could get more user if this were updated?

Charles, look at the facts.

This game lost ~3/4 of users and many of those still remaining are false users, who are not being deleted by the admins...

end of season clearing will make it 3-5k less, as always

It is going down, but as long as greg or demian doesn't pull the plug Sokker is not going to die. Too many (old) managers will hold on and keep playing ;)

I am sure there are thousands of users that will never quit.
So dying is nonsense, only if Greg pulls out the plug and i don't think this will happen.
