Subject: Sick & Tired of advertising
All your arguments are fine, but the registration problem remains.
This is only a problem for new and small nations.
A brit living in austria would most likely not have problems to register a team in england, but small countries will be flooded with registrations from people who want to have an easy start into the game!

I know. The problem remains, but we're trying to settle on the better of the worst scenarios right?
I mean:
- send an email in Albanian = wouldn't work. Any foreign user can find an Albanian on internet (forums, facebook) to translate smth for him
I think the most suitable solution is to accept memberships only from Albanian IPs. This way, I know to tell my friends that if they want an account they need someone back home to register for them. It might not sound right ethically, but that's proof of being an Albanian. However, it's up to the staff to decide.
PS: Sorry if I keep bringing Albania up. It's for ease of conversation. It's like saying X-country. I'm including all small countries that have the same issue.

At least you got in and can be sure that only Albanians play in your country!
How would you feel if you would play with 3 Albanians, 3424 polish, 234 people from Italy, 24 from Austria etc. and struggle somewhere in the 4th league and all the player names in the database are Polish because the one creating Albanian Database isn't even Albanian?

The very same user can ask the very same Albanian over facebook to apply for his team!
There's more Albanians living abroad than msg from Albania. I can assure you of that. So only a certain percentage can register you.
However, according to your theory, all 100% would be able to translate.
When you say Albanian in Albania, you narrow it down a lot. However, when you say Albanian, you're speaking of 10 million around the world who can possibly translate it. What are the better odds?

I like your thread, and I accept Gjergji's initiative. I think there should be a place(in internet), and time arranged for each users, who want to join, to talk about 1-2 min in Albanian in a chat client or something. Actively, using hard words, and no time to use dictionaries. It would proove anything. And if a new user arrives, he has to speak one of the well known Albanian forum users. It would allow also to come for users not related any registered Albanian users, and not has to be marked as "cheater" you said.
The other disturbing thing, is that most of users I brought to sokker exitted, or get frustrated, not to have a team in 1 day or something predictable time. I helped them a lot, I know they would love this game, but I can say nothing stricly, you will get your team tomorrow or the following day. Would it be hard to solve, every day 6:00 GMT new users from the day before get their teams?
When a game is easy to get in, the trust and interesting is much bigger.
And also waiting for the new style of the page... One of invited people said, it's quite lame, the other thing he quitted was he plays football, and likes better to play witt PES Fifa or something he can really control the game. I told him, the tactical thing is the best in this game, but he didn't dealed with sokker anymore.

Well, you are basically right here, but I can't really help.
I can only tell you why it currently works this way even if its a problem for many "refugee" countries.
Cannot say more now, should better stop before I start with my own philosophy of citizenship and national belongings...

First of all, the idea of scanning government issued ID and sending them online is totally wrong and inappropriate. There is no serious website which requires this even when it's money transferring involved e.g. PayPal.
Secondly, here I am an Albanian living abroad who got a team in Alb just by requesting it by emailing the staff, and I thank them for giving me and others this right.
Guys please understand that some countries have a lot of emigrants. Other games welcome any person living abroad to join their country of origin only by request. If Sokker wants to grow than this is a serious barrier in any aspect, including economic, being put which does not apply only to Albania but to a lot of countries. Which country does not have people living abroad? Poland? The whole Eastern block? African countries? Asian countries?
If sokker's staff needs help with authenticating these teams, as Gjergji said, we are here willing to help because on top of everything WE don't want non Albanian users in our league either. I'd rather have 10 Albanian teams than 20 half and half. Nothing personal but just staying within rules. And trust me there are other members in our league who are even more strict than me, you can tell this when they vote for NT coach, anybody can try that position, the best player in sokker might he be, he will never win if he's not Albanian. Again I don't want to be misunderstood and considered as discriminating on wrong grounds.
I also just don't understand whow would someone spit on his real nationality and his country and pretend to be from somewhere else just so he can play sokker? He will go nowhere on the Alb league, it is too late for that considering that he will have everyone and his brother against him. Look at TM, tons of non Albanian teams on the league, what are they doing? nothing. Wasting time.
To make it safer, we can even formulate a small paragraph in Albanian and it's proper translation for the staff so the applicant can translate. This would be a barrier to faking. But again I really doubt it someone would be interested on all this, he will never win, nor get elected as NT coach, no fun, no nothing, just fool around and waste time. What's there to gain? nothing

well.
some people have outsized national pride and others have a very big ego, they want to play in the highest league of a country and want to have a team full of nt players.
And they want it now and not after 10 years :)

That might be true, but i'll tell you what, how about his players not being called for NT? ;) would he like that?[diablo] Trust me man, in small communities it is easy to boycott, it is easy to kick someone out.
Anyways, we got to focus on how to make it easier for users to join sokker and keep it a fair game governed by rules. I'd like the staff to reflect on this particular issue and inform us of any decision being made. thanks

Don't worry, they know about the situation and are working on a better solution!
You have to understand that this takes time, though.
If you were an admin you would see the real trouble with another view.
As soon as a new country is open for registration there are applications of which about 80% are from "bad" boys.
You just cannot let them all have a team and wait for the community to kick them out.
Especially if the community of "bad" boys is bigger than the community of the real citizens :)

We got time! :)
No rush.. this issue has been one for many seasons and not only this one. So the staff can take as long as they please on solving it, as long as they notify us about any new set rules regarding the registration procedure. This way we can advise fellow users to keep in mind whats asked of them.

Same for your arguments, but AnimalA already said they would do something to improve it, so there's no need to discuss whether it would be wanted or not when it would be easier to sign up for Albania.
The main problem is that we receive everyday a lot of application by users trying to make a team in another country. Polish users trying a team in Kenia, brazilian users trying a team in Japan, Belgians trying and Cameroon and so on...
Ok, you are speaking about true cases, but how may we know if someone who lives in Australia and ask a team in Albania is really from there or just more one australian?
We are not so harsh if the request is the opposite... If a guy lives in a country with 10- users and asks a team in a 500+ country, he's not trying to cheat.

It takes time and it's easier said than done. But how and when are important Mr. luuut. For once the users are kept informed by the staff which is something that should not be neglected and secondly we know when and what to say to other people so the procedures are followed properly.

We can never know for certain. It'd be nice to come to a common understanding about how to minimize it best.
I say accept only teams with the Albania IP.
How do you feel about us advicing these users to get a relative from back home to sign them up. Is that proof enough of them being Albanian? I think that minimizes it best. Chances of a polish user finding an Albanian who lives in Albania to sign them up, are pretty slim. Even some albanian abroad might have problems finding one. In my opinion is the best solution.
