if you look at the game exactly, you will see that the tactic's were very different in at least three important aspects:
-winger
-crossing strikers
-real defensive Midfielder
I did look excactly, I was watching the match live! ;-)
Of course you're right, but finally neither the DEF-MIDs nor the crossing strikers did have any influence on the match.
The wingers, yes, probably that could have been important to leave them at the outline.
But like Seca wrote, the passing to the winger was the key.
While almost all German players (including DEF and ATT) successfully passed to your winger, most of the Suomi passes to their winger were inaccurate.

It wouldn't surprise me if the manager played with a similar tactic again in the future. In our last match against Holland we used a near identical tactic and we came away with the victory then too.
I doubt he will use it every game though no, just is a tactical option.

Just to add, that with the new ME, a high defensive line has become a little more effective in my opinion.
Less 1-on-1's are scored so the punishment for the line being broken are less severe, and of course, there will also be very few long-shots against this type of tactic, again this is good as now more long-shots are scored.

3-3 between Eesti and USA.
Fair result, although what can I say...Pretty impossible to score from one on ones. We had like 5-6 1vs1 situations, only one was used after the striker got ball from defender.

Congrats to the Swiss. :) A very even and entertaining match. Unfortunately my throw-ins were very weak which I feel cost Canada the match.
2nd half was very much one way traffic. Your 3rd goal was ridiculously poor play from Ritch though.
You certainly had the first half after the initial 15 minutes.

The Swiss were perfect on their break-aways. Depends on the karma I guess. :)
Im not sure about:
if two teams have same points:
direct comparison oder goal difference?

Yep, 3 chances, 2 goals!
Well, like you wrote, an entertaining match of two equal teams.
A draw would have been the right result in my eyes, our win is a bit lucky ...
Still you have the chance to qualify with a win against Suomi ...

Chile 1-4 België
Rather easy win. Chile only got 1 shot at the goal: a penalty which they scored. It was not always easy breaking the 5 man defensive line, but 4 goals is very satisfying for me :)

After today's results in group H, Scotland will finish top in the "Group of Death"
