Subject: Elections in Poland

2008-11-29 15:59:10
Well I doubt that rules were introduced from news

they were, ask devs...

so all you say after this is simply not by the rules...

But he doesn't get his team blocked and might return in half a year or so.
2008-11-29 16:00:13
But tell me what is stronger? Statement in rules, or statement in news?

I do not believe it would be right to ban him so that an election could be opened and then unban him. He says he is leaving and that should be the reason for the election....end of.

If he states that he is leaving the NT job only then that is not fine imo. However as I stated above he has told me he is leaving Sokker all together.

I he is leaving, he should have left before elections, than have elction for 5 days (so nt doesn't suffer) and no problem.

But now, he is not leaving? and they have simply decided to have new elections...

Please remember that an user who has been elected as NT manager will not be able to resign from their job

I think this is a very good rule.
Let's see the fact that in RL serious things can happen that can't be anticipated! Just as an example, a child of a NT coach dies and the NT coach says he don't wanna continue as NT coach but wants to stay in Sokker, but with much less effort. What do you do then? Do you say that it's impossible to resign just because the rules state so?
Come on, it's an online game! I guess we all agree RL is much more important!
And at this stage admins - or greg - need to decide with their common sense if it is appropriate to "break" the rules.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not referring to this case, I just want to say that as a general statment! ;-)

edit: not talking to you brokus, but to everybody ;-)

news = rules

officially stated in the beginnings... ask devs as I already said...

In 50 days of not logging in he would have no team to return to in all likelihood. All teams automatically become bots irrespective of series they are in after 50 days of no logins.

He is leaving.....as far as I am aware, plus the election has been stopped.

no mentioning of this in rules, if it were, and the reason was valid, it would be much less problem... still if you leave decisions on "common sense..."

but first team babysitting, and now this?

There is holiday mode = 100 days. And he can always log and unlog to make this period longer.

I totally agree with you. You are 100% right!

The only thing that pisses me off is that in the past it wasn't possible for f.e. dumb to step down as NT coach because he couldn't do the job properly. Now when it happens in Poland, it is possible. For me this sounds like favoritism.

It seems to me that the rules need updating on this issue. Currently the rules are just too open to debate, and can't be proved either way. I mean, who is to say if a users personal reasons are extreme enough to allow him to quit or not!?

There are two options:

1. All NT managers should be able to chose to resign from their post if they choose, and a new election called.

2. You can't chose to resign from the NT. The only way an election can be called is if you are banned from sokker.
2008-11-29 16:05:35
hahah sokker is very funny :D you can't resign ! If you are NT coach YOU MUST STAY to end of season:> You have contract and you can't broke it :]
2008-11-29 16:05:51
I just don't see a need to put everything in the rules.

But what would do in the case I described above? Would you allow the NT coach to resign? If yes, why, if no, why not?

completely agree

The question is, that according to current rules, even if NT coach dies - there should be no elections. We should wait 50 days untill his account gets deleted and then start elections. You agree with that, I hope?

And I think that starting elections because of user block is worse. Because he might be innocent. We should wait untill his account gets deleted as well. Because he always can get unblocked.
