Subject: Junior - good to solid

2009-10-10 18:46:01
thanks men
2009-10-20 12:25:34
so the maximum subskill is?

7.x? 7.05? 7.1? any examples of players with 30 weeks in youth school that came in good popped 778
and had a talent worse than 3.33?
2009-10-20 12:40:31
I had a player with 25 weeks starting at good that went; 3 4 4 4 4 5.
2009-10-20 13:23:23
that's impossible unless he was like 7.3 when he came in

Well, it's another with no proof i'm afraid, but i'm certain in my mind :-)
Laughabily, my stats are a week short...perhaps the first pop was 4 after all! :-B

A bit off topic and dont want to offense anyone. I'm just curious that someone posted junior talent graph with white background, like in senior player graph: like this:
Mine and most of us always have the same background with the page like this

Did they fake the graph?

Not something special...

He could just cut the part with the pops, for a smaller file

it's an old skin/gui implementation of Sokker. As I can remember graphs used to be on white background back then...

Guys! I have discovered something important. NOTE THIS:

Research Question:
Which beginskill can a junior have when entering the youth school?

Assumptions:
- maximum talent is 3.091 weeks a pop (10 times three week pops in a row)
- maximum endskill is superdivine (17.999) This was once confirmed by greg, according to a dutch Moderator.
- maximum number of weeks in youth school is 34
- Junior talent graph is linear!!

To answer our question, first we need to know the maximum a youth player can gain on a weekly basis. This, I call maximum progression.
It is 1 divided by maximum talent: 1/3.091 = 0.323529412

Second we answer the question:
(maximum endskill minus maximum beginskill) divided by maximum number of weeks = maximum progression
(17.999 - X) / 34 = 0.323529412

So we need to find X. To do so, the maximum progression is multiplied by the number of weeks:
0.323529412 * 34 = 11

X = ~17.999 - 11 = 7.0!!!!

Wow! This is some revelation! I'm wondered nobody figured this out earlier when it was known that a player actually can pop 10 times after 3 weeks!

Conclusion:
With the now known maximum talent, a player can enter the youth school with a maximum of 7.0 (if 34 weeks left), otherwise he will end up above 17.999 (which is impossible)!!

This, obviously, contradicts with the commonly known facts! Namely, that a player can pop to solid in 3 weeks. This is proven almost on a weekly basis.

So, what does this mean?
This can mean a lot of things, things I would like to invite you guys to discuss about:
- there is a difference in the maximum beginskill for players with Y weeks to go.
- the talent curve is NOT linear
- ??? you tell me

what do you think? :)
2009-10-20 15:28:43
- the talent curve is NOT linear

I'd go with this one
2009-10-20 15:30:13
Also note the fact that 34*(1/3.0909090909091) is exactly 11 (no rounding). That, together with the fact that the maximum endskill - 11 equals exactly the level that juniors can enter the youth school with, makes this a véry plausible factor within the youth school formula.

sure, but why....I would like to invite you to discuss on a higher level than just saying what you think. Do you have any assumptions or ideas or maybe even facts you want to throw in on it?
2009-10-20 15:39:33
What You have said sounds logical but on the other hand... You can have superdivine player and still give him training if You want despite he won't progress in trained skill. Why it shouldn't be possible with juniors too, having a superdivine junior with 2 weeks left who will not gain any extra skill before being pulled?
2009-10-20 15:44:18
its not so right to have a superdivine youth and to get training but no progress. the youth player is a young talented player that will be trained and have a big progress so its kinda wierd.. no progres in youth school but in the first team there is progress
2009-10-20 15:45:30
You're discussing my assumptions. Well, I can tell you why.

1) Greg confirmed that 17.999 is max
2) Have you ever seen a player that was higher than divine+2? Let alone higher than divine+3? I don't think so. For your idea to be true, it most probably should have happen already. But it hasn't, not one single player was even divine +3 (for your theory to be true they should reach divine +4) from the millions and millions of pulls we've made al together already. So, what you state is very unlikely.

Let's focus again on the reasons why now :)
