I'd quote what adviced before: a superimposed low bar for plus users showing latest "activities", like observed players put for sale or the result of the observed teams.

the menu itself should definitely be "constant" and not an element that scrolls.

I used the sokker design as it is right now ;) If I made an own design, there wouldn't be that much free space on the sides ;)
