I have a question about the most valuable U21/NT players etc...

Do all (those valuable ones, who make the top10/20) players in sokker are in those tables. Or ou have to update sth to get the players there. And how to explain, that some of the mids are in defenders list etc...

the list is on the last played game mate so if your mid played in defence then thats where it shows him.

right promotion table. Take a look HERE

It takes a wee while to load but i shall remedy that as soon as i have all the data manipulation sorted.

This shows you the position of each team in their league listed from top league down. Now 1-8 is the premier, 9-16 is first div 01 etc. What smarty pants in here can say to me right this is how we process who auto promotes and who play off etc etc for all the leagues.

From that data i think i should take the following.

8th relegated with best from 1st division.

7th plays 2nd best 1st division winner
6th plays 3rd best 1st division winner
5th plays 4th best 1st division winner

to sort div 1 i need to compare line 9, 16, 23 and 30 to see who has ..

Most points
Better Goal Difference
Most Scored
???Rank???

does anyone have a simple equation/formula which says position x plays position y or something similar?

I think you'll need to make an additional table for sorting promotion and relegation. The problem is that 5th-8th place are all compared to each other - so it's not just a question of which 8th placed team is best/worst. An 8th placed team in the 2nd best league can avoid relegation if a 7th placed team in a competing league has done worse... So you'd need a table of all 32 1.division teams sorted before you can proceed. The same goes for 2nd division etc...

First pass

So that gives me the promo / relegation from premier league.

I think it is most points, better goal difference, number of shot goals, number of wins, rank in the last season. And this does not affect the teams that are ranked first of their league.
I guess have to make seperate tables for every league level (so for highest league places 5-8), for second division you have to take everyone that ended first in his league in one table and sort them after that rules up there. Now best one will directly change places with worst team from higher league (you would have to programm this for best 25% of the teams of lower level, and worst 25% of upper levels directly relegate against then. So I would make it this way:

a) make sure that in this table you generate you sort after this, in this hierarchy: league, points, better goal difference, number of shot goals, number of wins, rank in the last season
b) in this table take only teams 5-8 for table 1
c) take teams 8+[1+(n*8)] with n=0-3 = teams 9,17,25,33 and sort them by points, better goal difference, number of shot goals, number of wins, rank in the last season for table 3
d) put table 1 and table 2 together, lowest ranked in table 1 against best ranked in table 2, highest 25% of this should be marked red (direct promotion/relegation).

Then next league level would have to be calculated:
a) same table as base
b) take only 8+[5+(n*8)] for n=0-3
8+[6+(n*8), n= 0-3,
8+[7+(n*8), n= 0-3
8+[8+(n*8), n= 0-3
for table 4
c) take only 40+[1+(n*8)] with n=0-15 for table 5
d) again put them together with lowest ranked in table 4 against best ranked in table 5 and best 25% of them are direct.

Then next league level again filter for this teams:
40+[5+(n*8)] for loop n=0-15
40+[6+(n*8), n= 0-15,
40+[7+(n*8), n= 0-15
40+[8+(n*8), n= 0-15
for table 7
and 168+[1+(n*8)] with n=0-31 for table 8
etc.

Don't see another possibility if you have this table as a base ;)

yup pretty much how i am tackling it - thanks for this it may keep me on the right track at some point.

i have only started by sorting the arrays by points then goal difference. Once i get all the tables done then i can add more sorts in.

Lovely, lovely. This will save a LOT of people a LOT of time!!! :-D

i quite like it myself if i dont mind saying so. I was going to shell out for a striker to get my goal difference up, but since looking at the promotion tables i dont have to as i am currently in an auto promote position.

ok the new promotion/relegation tables should now take in division 3. I will be going no further than that as my head hurts now.

This has been calculated after 4 games have been played.
but we have 5 games
