Subject: Supporters Mood Update

2009-07-23 21:47:30
Your suggestion about cup games affecting mood more in successive rounds is the best I've seen so far. It would solve the early rounds problem for big teams and give a big bonus at the end whomever you beat in the final.

It feels odd to agree with you ;)
2009-07-23 21:52:33
Bet you feel dirty now don't you. :D
2009-07-23 22:32:09
There is no way that anyone in this world could program something like that.
This game uses familiar probability distributions, and based on them calculates the odds.

There is no supreme AI involved here, unfortunately.

And, as a direct consequence of the new supporters mood nonsense, look at the spectators of the final of the National Italian Cup VIKINGO UNITED - Dinamo Gruntz among 2 of the best first division teams.
Only 21.169, for a final of a national cup, although the rain, is ridicolous...
2009-07-24 20:59:07
Well in this case I would really think the rain and the lack of roofs are more of the problem .

instead of working on fixing the mood system they came out with stupid looking T-shirts =D time well spent devs

although i have to admit the shadowing in the pics of the T shirts is quite professional

Don't worry, the T shirts might become collector’s items soon, if they don't devote time to correcting an obvious mistake with their supporters mood & sponsor’s income changes which seem to be linked.
This is so totally unrealistic

One of the goals of this game is to encourage users to manage their teams finances and ensure that the weekly income and expenses are under control, with the ultimate aim of avoiding getting into Bankruptcy, yet, they’ve changed the rules to punish your team, even if you win your league games.so how can you control your teams income?

It also seems apparent that you get punished for bringing in new teams into your league. But wait a minute, isn’t that one of the goals of Sokker- To increase its user database. Well, thats a fine way to go about it, NOT!

If I look at my club, for example.

01/06 Supporters mood changes introduced
13/06 Shock, horror – 6k reduction in sponsor income, League win & friendly defeat
20/06 OMG – Another 7K reduction in sponsor inc, after League win & friendly defeat
So What happened – Maybe its because 2 new teams joined my league in 2 weeks!!

OK lets change tactics to put 1st team in friendlies
27/06 Stable? – 0.5K increase after another league win, & small friendly loss
04/07 Same tactic on 1st team – 0.6K incr. after league win (Now top of the table)
11/07 Same tactic – 0.7K incr. after another league win & friendly loss
(OK, this seems to work)
18/07 Same tactic – 0.8K incr. after league win (Now top of the table) & friendly loss
(OK, this really is working, only another 10 weeks and I’m back to where I started)

25/07 WTF, Another 5K reduction after another league win & 18-0 friendly win.
Guess what, there’s another new team in my league!

What on earth, is this change trying to achieve??

Sponsor incomes have nothing to do with the supporter mood ;-)

So What happened – Maybe its because 2 new teams joined my league in 2 weeks!!
Yep, that's right!

OK, this really is working, only another 10 weeks and I’m back to where I started
The prestige of your league is lower than at the beginning (due to the new teams), that's why it's much harder to get to the same level again.

Sponsor incomes have nothing to do with the supporter mood ;-)

You are joking, aren't you?

I guess he ment in his specific case.

He is one very funny guy.
And wrestny of course.

Funny thing about ranking points, thus supporters mood and money and everything is that they were dropping when I was winning my cup games against much weaker clubs. If we presume that it is ok with new rules, why didn't I gain anything from my 0-1 loss yesterday from team with 600 ranking points more than me?

It is something which I don't get.

Where is the border and does anyone know the formula?
2009-07-27 10:33:34
oh, my bad then :)
2009-07-27 10:35:46
You are joking, aren't you?
Nope.

If you lose your supporter mood decreases and your sponsor income aswell ;-)
So you might think they're connected. But it's just that both depend on the results you're achieving ;-)

They're also influenced by different things. Sponsor income for example by league prestige, which doesn't influence supporters mood.
Supporters mood is also depending on previous season results imo, but that doesn't matter for sponsor incomes.

But basically you can say that if you're successful both raise, if not, both decrease. That's true for almost everybody ;-)
2009-07-27 10:50:18
Of course supporters income and supporters mood are directly connected to each other and not like you say passive connected.

The mood is what decides how much from the maximum amount (which is then based on league prestige, fan club size and other things) you will get.
And not the other way around.
Top mood is 100% from supporters maximum income.
Lower mood is 100%-X from maximum income.

You can win 10 matches in a row, when the new supporters mood systems doesn't let you climb a few mood levels you remain low.

I take it you as admin have better information on this than ordinary users. So basically you are saying, that this news is yet another example of crappy comunication from devs, right?

Supporters Mood Update
As of this season your supporters reaction to victories and defeats will change. Your supporters shall be less disappointed if they lose to a stronger team, especially if the score line was close. If you marginally lose against a much stronger team the chances are your supporters mood could rise as they will see this as good progress. As always there is a dark side. If you lose against a weaker team you can expect your supporters to be very upset at this loss and have a severe mood swing. Also when playing against weaker opposition it will be harder for you to please your supporters as they will now expect you to win comfortably.

These changes will affect league games, play-off games, friendlies and cup games.
Please be aware that the influence of supporters mood after a game was always calculated depending on the strength of the opposition and score, now it will be more visible.

Do you see anything about sponsors (I might have missed it)?

Did you experience let's say 30k drop of income from sponsors after win in the cup (even though your rank went down because your opponent was much weaker) in previous seasons? I don't think so. Now with fanmood dropping 2 levels after win it's not that unusual.

A) Either greg changed the sponsor behavior as well and didn't think it was important to inform us (quite possible scenario)
B) You are wrong and fanmood influences sponsor money.

I believe B is correct.
2009-07-27 11:16:56
B definitely, but also calculating league rating, average of others' income etc.
