Subject: Any official explanation about downtimes ?

Someone said earlier that devs are working on a system that does it automatically.
Currently they need to do it by hand, if they are sleeping or just not there, they can't do it.

arrrrrggggh my main point was that IF they used a proper SP then they wouldnt get bloody DDOS attacked. Its bloody easy to mitigate against DDOS - its the easiest form of traffic killing on the internet for servers.

True, but Sokker is a small side with very limited budget, so no super anti DDoS service provider for us :(

these problems are regularly appearing for several years, always +- the same and I already reaized long time ago that the main problem is not limited budget

Sokker is under attack since several years....pffft don't have words for you...

This is the second time and this time the impact is much smaller than the first time when Sokker was not prepared, so please stop talking things worse than they are. ;)

first i really dont se higher awareness in these times from user view
and the several decades many-hours downtimes in past were all caused by hardware problems, of course ...

When was the last longer downtime because of Sokker server problems (not DDoS)?

How long are the down times because of the current DDoS attacks?
I'm very active and have not catched one of this attacks by now.
You are talking as if there were regular problems and this is just completely untrue.
Devs have worked hard in the past, upgraded the server hardware and internet connection to make everything run as good as needed.
They aren't going to spend 5000 Euro a month (and make us all pay for this game) for the internet connection because someone might find it funny to start DDoS attacks if a 500 Euro connection is fully sufficient for Sokker's needs, simple as that!
There wasn't even problematic connection problems in the first cup rounds in the past seasons.
If you want to moan at something Sokker related than server availability is trully the wrong target.

use your brain at least once and you will figure out that im not talking about daily morning few-minute downtimes

Exactly. Make it automated somehow. Better today than tomorrow. I'm not a programmer, but it doesn't seem like a big problem to me.

Don't know if it has already been answered. But captcha works for other type of DoS attack, it works for avoiding automatic scripts to create an enormous amount of users of a type, but it doesn't prevent the attack of concurrent calls to the same server.

Without captcha, you can build a program that will start creating users over and over again, this causes slowness while accesing the database, and that can bring the system down, for several reasons.

I don't think that the system is going down due to that type of attack.

I wasnt able to log in yesterday ,between 6pm and 11.55 pm.
