Subject: Is Sokker dying?

More important, people strongly for it and strongly against it vote. "Not-carers" don't vote. Still, "not-carers" won't be happy nor unhappy if it's done :P

Administrators should keep up to date, minor changes would always be appreciated, need little of the time, the mere possibility of giving the players would be happy number 's user

imo people would rather other more important things first, such as fixing the fan mood, upgrading the ME etc. international cups are nice, and can feasibly be implemented and involve a fair few of the users, as sydval has shown, but i think that would be a bit further down the list of things to do ^^

I've what I think is an interesting question that needs answering.

Looking at the game numbers right now, there are 453 applicants to join. Lets say that's the average and they take 2 days to get accepted. That would mean there are around 6750 applicants per month.
So, my question is simple. If there are nearly 7000 applicants per month, how come the number of users playing isn't growing? Because that seems like a massive fail

People also leave. Even if just 1% leaves every month, that means growth and decline even each other pretty much out. The problem is not that people leave, as stated earlier that's within the nature of this kind of games, but too few new users sign up.

I think you must define two problems each containing their significant question:

- How come we get so few new subscriptions?

- How come new users tend to quit from the second they've joined?

For me these are two major issues for Sokker. They are in my opinion many, many possible answers. All I think to know is that in our current situation, these issues will never go away.

- How come new users tend to quit from the second they've joined?

You clearly don`t see the real problem here. Check the new users registered list under country`s stats. There you can see that most people even won`t log in once they have signed up for a team. Don`t know what`s the reason. I have talked with on Kiwi user. He signed up, didn`t log in. Fre months later he registered for a new team. I asked why he didn`t start to play with his first team - he answered he just forgot.

So we got to solve that problem - don`t know if sokker send mails to remember the users, they have receieved a team or not.

That's what I mean really. Don't know why you say that I don't see the problem? :p

In fact, it's only part of the problem. Many users only log in once or twice after they joined and then quit. It's most likely Sokker can't create enough interest to let them experience the game's USP (unique selling proposition), probably being our match engine and correlation with the tactics editor.

accepting new users more quickly might also help in remedying that problem

most of them are handled within 24 hours

It's not 1% though is it? 7000 applicants with no growth means 7000 leaving at the same time. 10% of the userbase. This game gets plenty of applicants and I'd say less than 20% stay.

i will be happy if they do it some time ^^, and yeah there are some things to improve which can make better game

less than 20% stay
I think this is just normal.

i voted no. I personally havent found another manager sokker game which i like as much as sokker.org. if someone has an advise please send me a sk mail. On the other hand i agree that improvments can me made, but in my opinion sokker is by far the best online manager game.
2009-11-11 02:54:14
Possibly yes, because look at this

however, the amount of searches made suggest sokker is growing!

Mmmm at first your link looked interested, but..

TrophyManager
Hattrick
ManagerZone

Freaking WorldOfWarcraft

Unless the major online soccer games are dying and the Monster World Of Warcarft is dying, then that stat does not show anything at all.

Weird why the unique visitors of all major pages is going down through time. Maybe is related to what Google thinks of UNIQUE VISITORS
