Subject: Is Sokker dying?

2009-11-11 16:21:06
Like you, being in 4th division for over 7 seasons ;)
2009-11-11 16:26:07
Who let you out of your cage? ;)
The complaints being levelled at the game are perfectly valid and seeing as most new users don't even sign in, I think it's unlikely that it's this thread putting them off staying.
What is putting people off is the signup process, should they have the patience to get through that, it's the complexity of the game combined with the horrific inflation of buying players, which has left the 250,00 starting money a joke.

exactly xDDD i'm too lazy for setting new tactics :P
2009-11-11 16:58:21
hey, that's what i did, and look where it got me :P (to avoid looking stupid, please read my history too ;))

and OT, patience, people, patience

most new users don't even sign in

that happens all across the internet - you know the sort of quick surfing guy who has to press everything and then doesn't know what he's been doing. It's an illness and one we are not going to cure here!

Right, in real life supporters are unhappy after winning national cup. Last season - Romanian cup - mood drop for the winner.

It depends. If Espanyol wins Copa del Rey, fans become very happy. If Real Madrid wins Copa del Rey but loses Spanish league, they fire the coach. Sometimes, they win Spanish League but not the Champions and tehy still fire the coach and fans remain disdainful towards the team.
So it is a relative quastion.

Sokker may not be immortal!

Of course not, Immortal is Immortal and Sokker is Sokker
2009-11-11 18:02:26
Yes but fans doesnt worsen their mood inmediatelly after winning a tournament. Dont relate what the president of a club may decide after evaluating a whole season (the decission of firing the coach) with the fan mood (that for sure is more spontaneous)... and inmediatelly after winning Copa del Rey, Real Madrid fans may not improve their mood, but for sure they wont worsen it.
And if that is not enough example, I insist with mine: first in my league, won 21-0... lost a fan.

I don't think users are leaving just for the fanmood system.
2009-11-11 18:11:50
This thread is not about why users are leaving, but about Sokker death.
And for me Sokker is going to die becuase it is in the way of forcing the "old school always loyal" managers to abandon the game, while its uncapable of capturing new users.
2009-11-11 18:14:20
the problem is two-fold, like hells mentioned earlier

old users leaving
new users not staying
2009-11-11 18:15:09
Sadly, updating this game with a 3d engine or whatever will alienate the old users, who prefered the retro version
2009-11-11 18:21:45
IMO,
new users want/need slicker look of the site
old users want/need to feel that they matter to the devs, ie. better communication and a few updates now and then.

That is all.
2009-11-11 18:22:59
We need a User/Dev suggestion page, not having devs hide behind their forums

If you really want to talk about the "death" of this game: what's the deal with the current status of sokker's economy? Is it on the brink of a recession, like HT once was?

Trainees costing and arm and a leg, but the finished products are going for lower and lower prices. Same signs.
2009-11-11 18:27:54
Afaik, HT is not dead :P on the other hand, I don't see the "finished product" is cheaper every season. Maybe not as expensive as before, but I don't see that recession.
