Subject: Is Sokker dying?

2009-11-11 18:27:54
Afaik, HT is not dead :P on the other hand, I don't see the "finished product" is cheaper every season. Maybe not as expensive as before, but I don't see that recession.
2009-11-11 18:28:36
I remember buying awesome trainees for like 100k, now nearly 300k
2009-11-11 18:31:21
HT had deflation, but hardly a recession (because people kept "producing" players :P).

Also, if trainees are expensive and middle aged players are cheap, it is misspricing, rather than recession, what we face. Misspricing or selection bias: maybe only the 25yo crap is sold :P
The point is, if you buy a trainee to grant some fine 25yo player in your team in teh future, any price might be right. But if you buy a trainee to sell him later and make profit, and you pay more than the price you wil lget after training him then you are doing crazy things. Or you have crazy expectations about furture prices of players, but reality will correct those expectations sooner or later :P

the problem is two-fold, like hells mentioned earlier

old users leaving
new users not staying

First one is not a problem - if you have played some game for 4-5 years, then at some point you feel it´s enough. And people don`t only leave, because they get tired or there isn`t enough development, but just something else in their lives forces them to quit. Of course the other half quits, because they have won so much and there is nothing to play for anymore. But´s normal in every game.

"I don't see the "finished product" is cheaper every season. Maybe not as expensive as before"

genious

well, prices for top players have gone down a lot... i kinda feel its not worth selling them now, expect it to come up one day or another....

and yes in some way it is a recession.... people just cut their spending by a lot, lots of users save money and cashflows have decreased by miles compared to 2~ years ago

:)

and i have a feeling that it may strike us with big inflation sooner or later, because we save more when we do less transfers (taxes), and we have quite a lot of savings...

for example i have 10M euro now, i think lots of bigger clubs are in similar situation... once they realize that players are cheap now and its time to buy, everything is gonna turn the other way again
2009-11-11 18:55:03
That may be true, but definitely not right after the final cup match. Which was the case here...

"Statictics of injuries in sokker are comparable to real life."

Even if that is true it is wrong to base injuries in this game on real life stats because the two environments do not function in the same way to deal with the injuries.

In Sokker we have to play our players to receive training but in real life everyone that is not injured receives training so here there is little point in having over 22 players and we can struggle with injuries but in real life they can have bigger squads and not suffer as much.

This is even more apparent with goalkeepers who at face value seem to get injured at the same rate as outfield players in SK. Even if that is not the case we are in a really bad way when one gets injured because we don't have more then one as backup really.

We also don't have a loan system for players like in real life that clubs use when things get really bad.

The prices here really worries me a lot - Good juniors never go cheaper, I am sure of that. Probably not class players age up to 23 maximum. But players 25+ are really cheap, hopefully something positive happens with their prices in future.

And as you said, lot of big clubs are in similar situation like you - So I am, huge amount on account, but actually no need to spend it.

It's not the same "deflation" (meaning continous fall of prices) than slow growth. Actually, we know a lot about this in Spain, where firstly the growth was very slow, and finally we entered the recession. But they're different things, and if one happens doesn't mean the other will neccesarily happen too.

What I'm trying to say is that, maybe last year the prices raised a 8% (i.e.) for a top-player, and now it's growing a 2%(i.e.), which doesn't mean the financial system is broken down or going bankrupt. Actually, it's much more desirable to have a permanent growth of 2% than a high rate; we have seen in real life what happens when you grow so much ;)
2009-11-11 19:12:19
but its been at least -25% over last few seasons (for top class players...)

More managers play with HT, but I think HT has more advertising. But when I saw the sokker, the 3d graphic, so the HT is boring for me now. In that game the tactic is zero, if anbody has a player with big mono-skill he is the God. The players training is very slow, which is so boring too.

Well, the sokker need a better attention. We need to speak about the sokker, we need to comunicate in websites with advertisements.

This is only only one thing. Every country is a little group, the group decided lot of thing.

- I have get a lot of sokker friends in the sokker, and we go to play poker and go to IRL Sokker Cup.
- Another thing. After the sokker season, we do some interesting voting. We have a judgement with 5-6 person, we vote about best U21 player, with best senior player, we chose a league dream team, the best goalkeeper in the season and so force. Ths is a big feeling if anybody see his player in the dream team. Maybe this manager get a plus motivation...

The sokker not only a game for me this is more nowadays:)
Some occasion I would like to finish this game, beut this good group don't want to finish this game.

agree

i woudn't pay more than 11M € for Saratxo now...

Try to train some defenders. You buy them as a 20 years old, and if you are lucky, you won't sell them with deficit when they reach the age of 25-26...
