Subject: Is Sokker dying?

2012-06-15 13:21:20
yah the eingine has to bee improved that's true!
2012-06-15 13:23:39
If those are happy how is improved the ME, tell to greg to make tests only with your teams... Everybody will be happy then
2012-06-15 13:25:36
the same in my match:

2 Tiros 11 --> i won 0:1

But with the new engine it looks to me as if it is now allmost only luck and fortune.

this could be very true. I think with the "improvement" that the defenders can move itselfs towards the attackers, better tactics are not really better anymore, because the engine makes it itself.

And winning or not - it was disgusting to look at.
yah this is true if you don't find a good solution concerning the camera.
and non-plus-user do not have many possibilities to adjust the camera:/

+1!

R.I.P. Sokker :(
2012-06-16 13:28:26
Read the news:

We will continue to tune the match engine over the coming weeks until we reach a more natural look in 3D proportions and realistic speed of ball and players.

These changes could have been tested before implementing on the test server, but according to greg not enough staff members take the time to watch matches on the test server and give feed back. So the only other way is to implement changes right away and see what happens in many matches at the same time to get enough feed back to make new changes.

So it has nothing to do with Sokker dying but all with making Sokker even better.
2012-06-16 13:39:29
appears much more funny videos on youtube, it will kill Sokker.
2012-06-16 13:58:40
That's why new changes are already implemented as greg told us, so the matches will be much more realistic again as last week. So it won't kill Sokker as it only happened one week.

I wonder if this many people will post videos about the good changes after this weekend (or even delete their videos when the bugs are fixed), or if it's all about complaining again and not about the positive changes that will make Sokker better in the end.

so maybe it's time to let some experienced users watch the games at test server if staff members are too lazy...
2012-06-16 14:10:23
I don't think it has that much to do with being lazy, but more with the lack of motivation after to many seasons of frustration ;)
2012-06-16 14:25:36
I do not know What it means reality for him.

The game looks beautiful - I agree! more to add, the more beautiful to the eye.
But it is not realistic, the goalkeeper has the advantage against the attacker chances 1 on 1.
width 7.32 m and height 2.44 m, this is a huge height and width, goalkeepers Sokker cover the area without problems. Proof of the penalties! 90% of penalties are not a problem for goalies...

Then you better step up the defense to be less chance. I can not watch that goalkeepers defend 90% of strokes. It gives a chance for weaker teams. - OK! However, penalties have to be repaired.
Match two days ago 10 penalties one goal. It gives an insight into the probability of shoot player who has a chance 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper.

Maybe wait one more day and see what changes has been implemented before complaining again .... you have seen greg's post about the changes that are made for this weekend (or else read the Forum Sokker Linguists).

These changes could have been tested before implementing on the test server, but according to greg not enough staff members take the time to watch matches on the test server and give feed back.

this is quite embarassing:
1) if it's true then Greg is surrounded by people who is unable to see what any experienced user have understood perfectly well at first sight: engine unproposable. stop.
2) if it's not true is even worse then 1).

In any case it is not the way anyone with good sense would expect too see engine changes realised, that is to say without sufficient side testing. If Greg has staff problem I think in Poland it is not forbbidden to hire more, to hire better or to submit test matches to admins and expert users for advise. No excuse working here my friend.

As come to changes, we all know is for better, no one is dumb here.
The points are: (1) never introduce unsufficiently tested changes, (2) try and consider users advises, (3) restore last sunday engine version if unable to produce a better engine before next sunday, that is to say tomorrow.

Staff members are all managers with a star and have access to the test server, and many do have this access. But unfortunatly many only want access to have it, but don't do anything with it. I post many ideas on the test server and I always see a VERY small group of managers (staff members) do the same, but way to less. So you can also complain to your own country staff members, who do have this access, for not being active on the test server ;)

And the world doesn't end because of some changes that didn't work out to well for one week ;) It's work in progress, as mentioned in the news article.

And for the ME, this weekend it should all be better again as greg told us.

EDIT: try and consider users advises, I agree with this 100% and always telling this to greg as many times as I can. We, the managers are the users and without us there is no Sokker. And for the advises, that's also the reason why I post many ideas from the Forum Bugs / Ideas (en) on the test server to show them to the DEV's.

Tnx for your reply, polite and all the rest. But believe me, u could show one single match with wednesday engine to one single person, if he is not stupid he had to say that it was unproposable. The truth is that they did not tested at all, and this is pretty bad.

As for the rest, it does not result to me that managers are directly responsible for developing the game, or for introducing a new engine, but I may be uninformed.

Youn are right, the world doesn't end, but if no one demands for a far more attentive attitude from "the staff" there will not be all this great respect for users, as the facts of this week are here to show. So my "complains" are a benefit to the community exactly like your explanations are.

I've played Sokker with a lot of pleasure for the last 7 years, but with the fucked up NT pitches and unrealistic changes in the match engine, this is my last season in the game.
