Subject: »news Match Engine Changes
From the first friendlies after the play-off games a new match engine shall be installed.
In this new engine the major changes are all related with your new junior teams to enable junior matches to be played.
Juniors play based on their current hidden skills, which level the play at is related with how well their total skill is visible on your junior’s page. Juniors will play as if they were in superdivine form. The juniors pace, for game purposes, shall be increased by 5%. This is to make the viewing of the junior games less dull. Juniors cannot be injured after the match i.e. if they are injured during the game they will make a speedy recovery directly after the game is finished. Yellow/Red cards and goals are not recorded either.
Other modifications are:
- Players height, the taller the player is, decides on how well they perform on a heading duel with opponents, on the other hand the shorter they are will allow the player to speed up quicker (but maxim speed is still same for short and tall players and depends on their pace skill).
Height has been balanced to not favour short or tall players, but it does matter what style of play you prefer - e.g. if you use the wing more, passes on head or rather through passes.
- Players may now block an opponent slightly while running to the ball, how good they block depends on their experience. For example an experienced defender will be able to either block or at least slow the attacker somewhat. Players will not block while heading. That change was tested three seasons ago and is now introduced.
- Tactical Discipline skill will now have an increased influence on the player’s position accuracy according to tactics during match.
- A defender will now watch if their team mate is behind them and basing on it decide to dribble or to pass in a hurry if opponent is close, this will decrease number of stupid loses of ball by defenders and also let you use defenders in offensive actions.
- NT players will get 50% of training instead of 33% while playing in a national match
- The offside numbers are now counted and displayed
edit by Baslx:
After getting permission from greg, here are the modifications since the first update;
Thursday - 14/06/12
- players should run quicker
- there should be less insane lobs
- headers are little more adequate
- launch and run bug found and fixed, since seasons when players were running slow, launch ball too far when not accelerated yet
- passes not changed, same as yesterday
Friday - 15/06/12
Players speed is increased, top speed is even higher than in engine version that came our at start of season, but players accelerate slower and a more natural speed acceleration formula has been used. Thanks to it we got effect as we expected, without lose on player dynamics seen on matches yesterday.
Long passes is now little faster, so lower, are between old engine and yesterday engine.
Lob shoots that still existed yesterday are fixed.
Because of these changes scores should be higher too

hopefully this change will make the sk community happy
junior matches will be interesting

İn NT Matches Tactic Disipline Shouldn't be more important.. Maybe only Experienced can be mora important.. İf one NT player is sold his Tactic disipline will be very low... What About This ?
for me it brings a new edge to planning for world cups etc at under 21 level. Look what France done in the original qualifiers - they played all their 19 yr olds and ended up with a very poor ranking but a team with decent tactical discipline. That will benefit the long term thinker now which i agree with
come on...
tactical discipline is not influenced only by NT matches...
club matches are more important, and U21 players are transfered often, so the TD will be down, even if you play him all the matches since he is 16...

Do those junior matches have any purpose? People usually have more than 11 juniors so I don't see how this could be used as a training method...
it can not be used as a training method. juniors will train the same regardless if they play a game or not.
So what effect will it have beside the "fun" of watching them play ?
Will positioning them in any order will increase the chance that they will develop better in those relevant skills ?

well you will have some idea on which position the junior will play when he comes out
Answer is right in front of us:

Problem is that it is not clear. : )

doesnt seem like that, you will just be able to judge and guess what abilities your player has by how he performs..
Any thoughts on that height feature? At first glance it sounds like defenders would be better off being tall whereas midfielder should be really really short...and attackers could be both depending on your strategy...
And what about the defenders not losing the ball as much anymore..does that mean technique is now worthless for defenders?
