Canada 1 Belgium 1 :) very important unexpected point for Canada.
For us it wasn't!
It is very easy to always blame it on luck when results are not in your favor. Canada U21 reached the semis in the WC and Canada senior this season won against Croatia and had a draw today against Belgium!
Still challenging for 2nd place despite we were in pot 4!
Isn't it never the merit of the weaker teams to hold to such better teams? Is it always luck? is it always the fault of the Match Engine! come on!! for once praise a smaller team (there are much more other than Canada) who managed to get a good result!
Maybe and only maybe the manager of the weaker team prepared the game well and maybe sometimes the stronger teams take it forgranted that they will win? may I remind you that Belgium today rated 10 points more than Canada...so do you pretend that we play a game on attack?
If I my say Canada had only 2 chances , scored 1 from penalty and was almost going to score another one in the 84 min. Belgium created maybe a maximum of 5 clear chances otherwise hundreds of crosses from the 3/4 leading to headers to nowhere rather than proceeding to cross from a better place. Canada conceded the goal from a set piece and our defenders I think they did quite a good job.
So for me NO it was not a joke but a result of good homework before the game!

19chances, of which at least 7 from inside the small box and the others from inside the penalty area. Yeah, think scoring 1 goal from these isnt exactly normal :) It happens, but so few times that it's luck if youre the team involved.
so what exactly do you pretend? That because 7 of the chances were clear, by default Belgium should win?
May I remind you that the keeper is there to KEEP goals from coming in! Otherwise football will be played without a keeper no?

So yeah, guess you're right.. Canada totally deserved to draw this game, in fact! Belgium was lucky it didn't lose 1-3 ;)
