Wow historic win by Guatemala...!! congratulations to HAPOCHA on this incredible match against France!!! Our Keeper was a wall today!!!

Why did you suddenly decide to switch from a 4 line defense to a 5 man defense with the offside trap? I really did not expect that LOL Our winger had a great match... He was always dangerous and managed to get around your wide defender all the time :) We missed a lot of 1 on 1's though :/ I was getting worried around min 60. Great match though and good luck!

Because I had some critics in the past match with the draw against Azerbaycan. Some pals said I opened too much the wingbacks. So, because of Clinton, instead of centering the defense I prefared to add an extra defender.

BTW, against Azerbaycan I had 16 points rating more than the rival... and made the best rating in the whole series. But it seems all the luck I used to have is now against me, lol

Very lucky win from Guatemala.
1 to 1 poor chances for strickers suck :(

It seems goalies are kings of that game :p
2010-12-06 13:13:57
Even the french one ?
2010-12-06 13:37:29
Objectively: yes! ;)

One on one chances are pure luck and random , it dosnt matter what is the skill of the keeper or the striker level of the striker , a very good striker can score the same ratio on one on one as a divine one can score , thats what i found out from my experience...
2010-12-06 14:00:13
That also means that keepers have huge advantage in these situations as they win most of them.

Pure luck would have meant a basis of 50/50 chances pondered with players skill levels :)

I guess you are right , in Latvija we miss about +80% of the one on one situations , so its less than 50 50...
;-)
2010-12-06 18:45:59
it isn't pure luck or random..for instance my awesome striker has scored 11 goals from 15 shots, most many of them one on one's
2010-12-06 18:52:01
I dont see any difference in one on one situations when we play a formidable striker or a magical striker , its the same in this situations...
Maybe your striker is a lucky striker...
;-)

i guess you are unlucky, even the ME had enough of you coaching Latvija... Even at Russia NT i see that this is not random... you may have a special experience with such situations but i can assure you there is not random in 1on1's
2010-12-06 19:07:59
but i can assure you there is not random in 1on1's

I'd really like to have your explanations of this please
2010-12-06 19:17:12
Maybe , im sure Latvija will score a lot better from this one on ones when i wont be there...
;-)

But come on , its random... its just luck...
Even a regular chance , like a header or a shot from the edge of the area is random , of course most chances if your striker has high striker skills than he will at least hit the target , but he can still score in the same ratio as a lower striker skill , its just that he may have higher chances to score but that dosnt mean he will...
I can give you example from my own team as well , my striker has incredible striker , in the first two matches of the season he scored 2 from 29 , a mid with excellent striker in my team scores better than him...
