Even a regular chance , like a header or a shot from the edge of the area is random , of course most chances if your striker has high striker skills than he will at least hit the target , but he can still score in the same ratio as a lower striker skill , its just that he may have higher chances to score but that dosnt mean he will...
I can give you example from my own team as well , my striker has incredible striker , in the first two matches of the season he scored 2 from 29 , a mid with excellent striker in my team scores better than him...

Rotfl, every aspect of sk has at least a bit of random. Every pass, dribble, tackle, shot, save. Rotfl at you saying that there is no random in 1 on 1 :D
well when a player is shooting in calculation is taken: player's form, skill s also GK's keeping skills, form. ANd as you know even greg said that the chance of scoring from 1on1 is bigger than from a header...
well, there is always room for random, but not so much as sharoni says, its pure random...
I tend to call it more luck than random but its the same meaning in this case..

And greg can say that , its still sometimes looks like a header is easier to score than a one on one chance , for example we had 2 one on one chances against Spain this week , last week Soumi had 2 chances as well , actualy they had 1 , a corner , and they scored a header from it , match ended 1:1 (Spain had just 1 more shot against us..) , so in this case the random was in favor of the header... or ill say , luck...

I still dont think that in one on one situations the GK skill means much , i see no difference if a very good striker needs to score on one on one to a divine keeper or a formidable one or a magical one... again , this is what i see in my matches , on the other hand in my league match last week i conceeded 5 from 6 chances of one on one , from strikers with unearthly-superdivine striker against a divine keeper , so this might make you feel better about your theory , but i still stick to mine..

have u made a study with strikers and playmaking skill in one on one situation ?
You wont find many strikers with high pm skill , the pm skill is around very good to outstanding (in most cases) , didnt see an excellent pm striker doing better than an outstanding one , dont think this is something that is taken in consideration in this one on one situations (or any other goal chance)...
thenu could make a study with experinced striker and unexpericend striker in one on one situations

I think there is a BIG difference in skills. If your latvian striker goes into a 1:1 against a superdivine goalkeeper the efficiency is much lower than if a striker with superdivine striker faces your goalkeeper (probably only divine keeper?). I know sometime even MIDs score but over a longer period the better striker (if we take same form) will have a higher efficiency. So it's not just luck!
I know it's hard sometimes. You're often die underdog as i'm too with Austria. It takes a lot of time to create good tactics and you prepare the team as good as possible. The tactic works good, you have nearly same amount of chances, are very close to win but at the end... i think it's not just unluck. Most of times the opponent has the better players, better skills... AND you think: 2 more seasons and we'll win such games but big nations will always have the advantage of better players even you come closer!

I guess you are right , but in my team my excellent striker mid scores better than my striker with inc striker for example , maybe in the long term statisticly it should change , like you said , but sometimes it feels like it never will..
And you are right , there is no doubt its frustrating to play as we did against Spain for example , execute our gameplan realy to perfection with the tools we have , and still lose it as it could easily gone the other way , maybe thats why this is what i think , that its just luck... (there is still luck and random in everything in this game , but if we think about it than there is also in real life football..)
btw , i think the level differences in time will get closer and closer between the teams in 30-60 places , we already see that , to take it to the next level , the top 30 its a different story , but still there are teams in the top 40-45 that can defently do well against the top teams and there will be more teams like that in the future , of course the top teams , the ones with the higher users number , will always stay at the top and be better , on paper , but in time more and more teams will get better and will be able to do well with the right tactics (and with little luck....) and there will be more suprises..

Indeed! It will be a hard job to defend out Top32 place which is very important to qualify for the world cup. Currently we have some strong nations outside Top32!

yeah, srbija played bulgaria last week... phew.. what a hard 3rd pot team. fortunatelly their bench is short so each player they miss is felt, but when 3rd pot team is making 71-74 mark it's a team that can beat most of teams on a good day

I think it is possible to do well with players that arent superdivine stars with the right tactics and luck , its possible , but of course in most cases the stronger team will win it and its harder in the WCQ to do so because its not one game like a cup so there is a need to a full season of supprises , im more frustrated when we play well and still lose the game , ok , we play against a much better team that makes 13 more ratings points which is huge difference , and ok , we are the weakest team in the 3rd pot and there are even teams like Ecuador in 5th pot which are stronger on paper or not to mention Moldova in 4th i think and making over 70 so i guess i shouldnt expect us to win against teams like Spain or Soumi , but its still sucks!
And Latvija will be in the WC , dont know if this one or the next one or the one after or whenever , and i dont know if ill be the manager when they will , but it will happen!
