Subject: [NT]World Cup Qualifiers

2010-12-07 18:23:18
You don't understand me ,right? I didn't say they will become weak, i said they will become weaker. OFC they will retain a 70+ rating meaning they are strong as NT, but they won't have for a long time squad that makes 77 rating
2010-12-07 18:27:19
mostly depends on the quality of trained players so its prety realtive to compare users agaisnt NT
a contry with 100 uses could promote 1 youngster perweek if that youngster isbeentrained it could arhive tobe a NT player at the endofthe year 52 trained players will build strong NT

any how thebig problem is thetraining so if all PRO trainers buy an arabia player and trainhim arabia will have a top NT

i try to make thsiwith venezuela long time ago and tahs how we archive to be a NT with chances tofight for a qualification in world cup but we still a smal NT in a growing process

Of course I got you, but I don't agree. IF (conditional sentence) they were able to keep their 70 users active forever, their team wouldn't get any weaker. Your examples are valid, but let's say that teams from 2005 start to make, after 3 years, 70+ rated players. 3 years is approx. the time when some users get tired and leave the game, and as there's no replacement in team strenght, their NT gets a little weaker in mid term (they'll become stronger again later, but they can't replace as fast as biggest countries). So actually they'll be going down and up again after a period. But in a "perfect world" and in a consolidated community like Austria it's very unlikely to happen. Their rate will eventually drop compared to other countries, but it'll go up again.

Austria is a 'dying' NT, while Vietnam is a 'growing' one.
The more time passes, the harder it will be for Austria to perform. It will be under much more stress from form and injuries and suspensions. Vietnam will get to the level of most NTs and have backups...

+1
But it dosnt end in the number of users , they will still need to have a strong local base and investing in their junior teams , i dont know how many in Vietnam are doing so and investing in their junior school or how many NT players / potentials are trained by local users.
NT's like Vietnam , Indonesia , China , Azərbaycan and i guess i miss some , will be stronger and have a potential to be a top NT someday , Indonesia for example already makes ~70.

I also dont think that Austria will get weaker by much , they might drop to around the 70-73 mark , its still a strong NT , i dont know how is their young generation is doing and how many local users are training players for the NT , but i dont think its like NZ or Island for example that are getting weaker and weaker , its a huge difference between 150 users to under 50.

In my eyes nations with 100-200 users can maintain a strong NT as long as there are enough local users that train local players and potentials and investing in junior schools , when i say a strong NT i mean a team with 70 ratings.

+1. It's not just the number of users which matters, but also the quality of the teams.

For instance, Nigeria has nearly always had more users than South Africa and NZ. Yet the Nigerian NT is no way near as good as either of them.

well, Nigeria only had inexperienced local coaches I think. A foreign coach is usual more experienced and will be more eager to give training advice. Imo its no coincidence that the countries sharoni mentionned (vietnam, indonesia, ...) are now having decent players.

nigeria is dead, there is absolutely no communication and activity from users (most of them are online just once per 2-3weeks or so). There were 2 local candidates in U21 and 2 local candidates in NT and each of them received vote just from himself ! in big NT won user who is in sokker just two monthes, who doesnt know how to set players, make tactics or arrange friendly but he somehow managed to put candidacy and voted for himself.

he yet played both NT matches with line-up and tactics extactly same with settings from last season surprisingly

and vietnam is suffering because it is closed to the world, external forum and absolutely no help from foreign users (who can raise quality of nt really much) consequently. long time ago i thought about problem of this country, because it always had so much (about 500 users) but it is still unexpectedly weak and i dont think something will change (there was really long time for that and still yet nothing changed) if they wont open their borders.

Thats a good point , sometimes the number of users is kind of a lie , what more importent is how many users are realy active in the game and in the forums , for example im sure in Island there are more active users than in Nigeria , even that the number of users is 2 times smaller.

About Vietnam , are you sure thats how its there? im not sure they are so "closed" , i think most of them if not all are speaking englsih and im sure a foreign manager , maybe someone known , has a chance there , they can have a top NT for sure , i wonder how many users are realy active there..

I'm not sure how much this contributes to the point discussed, but South Africa only has FIVE active users. That's pretty much what it has been since I joined Sokker five years ago.

Our NT is still getting stronger, usually scoring in the high 60's and with a recent high of 71.7.
Who knows how long we can maintain that, but so far so good.
2010-12-08 13:04:24
If im not wrong you trained / training many local players for your NT so you get a lot of credit for how your NT maintain nice marks.
And if im no wrong again than your NT is quite old from what i remember , i know you have some nice young players (like that Champion..;-) , looks like you will maintain this marks more or less , it will be hard to go higher than that , i think you are making the maximum from the potential you got with this number of users.
:-)

Yep, thanks. I suppose it shows what can be done with even a few dedicated managers but, like you say, it will be hard to go much higher without more users.

as i said they use external forum where no non-vietnamese users can write; messages from foreign users on forum were always without any respond from local users as well as attemps for help (to users or national teams) were ignored

there was not any foreign u21 or NT coach and tell me if im wrong but i don´t remember any assistant or scout from other country neither. I really doubt they would ever elected any foreign user, doesn´t matter who would put candidacy there.

+ They had always problems with crappy tactics, bad choice of players and horrible training system so i doubt they will get any better if things continue like that

yup, you provide big motivation for other small countries that even with only very few active users you can make pretty strong national teams. I remember South Africa is one of the oldest countries in sokker
and you were always surprisingly strong. It is big advantage when small country have experience and reliable managers who put maximal effort in junior schools and young players and realize that this is that what can keep you strong in the future.
2010-12-08 14:53:07
Well , from what i remember i think you are right , they never had a foreign manager there and i agree that if they there wont be a change than they wont do better than how they are doing at the moment..
Dont know much about their forum and staff , but if its like you say than i guess there wont be a change for them , at least not in the near future..

ok this is my view on it all.

The small countries may not be the small countries in here cause the users are organised unlike the small countries of the world, however the small countries of the world can of course be considered a large country of the world with a big shout. This does not mean that the large countries (measured by land mass) has the best players, take erm hmm nope i have now lost my thought.
