Subject: Regulation of transfers
I would like to know your opinion what do you think about totally overpriced transfers ? Should be such prices regulated or not ?
Some of you may say that it is free market and no one should be allowed to lower seller´s profit from player. That it is only matter of buyer how much he is willing to pay and if he wants to pay that money for given player, it is OK. As well as it is always OK if some player reaches really crazy price in bidwar of more users.
I cannot agree with you and Im strictly for regulation. I think such things are ruining the game if the same players (considering age, skill distribution, talent and bonus trainings) are being sold with 300% or even more difference (im talking about players with real market price 1M euro and higher) in interval of few days or even hours. Im not the only one who is disgusted with current situation. Im observing transfer market quite a lot and I see that such situations are becoming more and more common.
It is hard to call this cheating, altough such users are breaking the rues and It is obviously damaging other users and many of them are disgusted of this situation too
2. Sokker Rules
GENERAL SOKKER RULES
As an user you are obligated to obey the following major rules. In the game it is forbidden:
- to help other teams by bidding intentionally on their players above the market value
- to transfer players over their fair market values

It annoys me when I have a semi-decent junior, put him up for sale, and another player very similar goes for far more just a few hours later (okay, so not as many users may be online compared to a few hours later) but it annoys me. :(
Once, my mate told me he was in financial trouble, so I bought one of his older players to help him slightly (only 10 000 $ so nothing major)
Never heard of Transfer Price Adjustments? TPAs?
If regulation could be done fairly then yeah, no problem. I'm fairly certain that it couldn't be done fairly though and soon enough you'd end up with the same situation that exists in Hattrick where the mods just do whatever the hell they want with no repercussions.
A example for you. Over the last few weeks I've changed my priority from my own success to training potential national players. This has meant that I've been overly aggressive in the transfer market because I essentially don't care about money and have probably overpaid for a few of them. Now should I be banned for that? Am I not allowed to spend my money how I choose to? It all goes to the intent of the user, and that's something you can't regulate.

the problem is that TPA is as transparent as funding of political parties

i can accept that in cases that users are trusted. however, we don't know each other, so that we can see such intent in all transfers.

That's the point I'm making. In this case the only legitimate reason you could ban someone would be if their intent is to break the rules, and as you can't prove personal intent, the action has to be so clear as to the point where there can be no doubt about the intent. Any regulation on this would be utterly disastrous, would ruin the free market, would be unfair on those who actually have money to spend and would have to be constantly updated as inflation and player prices change. There's simply no way of doing it.
An example of what would happen.
Player goes up for sale
Club A puts in the highest bid possible right away
Cub B can't bid on the player
And then you simply end up with more cheating because then you can control where your player is being sold to.

but does your view also mean that if I wan´t to buy, lets say the best player in estonia, and I´m willing to pay what ever it takes to get him, I should stop bidding at some point of the bidwar, because some other guy has bidded littlebit over his marketvalue? and I guess after that I should complain this to some mod who would ban the guy who bidded the last offer?
imho only one whose transfers should be regulated are anaconda´s transfers:P

Do you realise that you have built your team over transfers?

Another example.
A few weeks ago I had targeted a player from the U-21 that I wanted and he wasn't on the market, so I contacted the manager and asked him to name a price. He named a fairly high price and after trying to get him to lower the price and failing, I just went along with it. The player was listed for nothing and I stuck to my word and put in the bid right away. This is another situation where if you make it a judgement call, I could have been banned for no reason, when I wasn't even the one who chose the price.

Transfers are regulated, they ate not transparent to the normal user as they could be used to openly make over priced transfers. Only those who control these things know how we do it....and thats how it should stay.
Thats why there is a "Dubious" option. ;)

as you mentioned it, it´s indeed pretty odd to hear such complaints from a daytrader whose entire carreer in sokker is based on the fact that someone will pay more money for the player he just bought for less money..
you're just jealous :P
Darren did pretty well til now, but, still, I think he's right with some things...
