Subject: General Training
Lets imagine you are going to be training passing for the next four seasons. You have the perfect coaching setup, so your main coach is unearthly on all skills.
Clearly your midfielder trainees will be popping in passing consistently, but what about the non-trainees. The non-trainees will only be receiving general training. Do you believe that random pops in passing will occur quicker than the other skills?

i guess it's the training skill that makes a greater impact.
can't really find solid evidence from my own team since i don't pay attention to growth of non-trainees
but somehow the manual says generally players in according the training positions train "most effectively" and other position "slower"
would that be the answer to this?

I accidentally voted for All skills random pop at the same speed., but I wanted to vote for A trained skill random pops faster....
I think a trained skill random pops faster because it sort of tells us in the rules. For example striker training:
Strikers (ATT position) train most effectively, a bit slower the midfielders (MID) and to a little extent, defenders (DEF) and goalkeepers (GK).
I assume the striker training MIDs, DEFs, and GKs recieve is still more than the general training they receive.

Only when the rules say so a trained skill will be trained faster for non trainees i believe.
If the rules say nothing it will be equally treated like other skills.
But i do not agree with "All skills random pop at the same speed" fast skills like technic will pop faster then slow skills like pace. (altough that last one has no randompops when training it ofcourse.)

It should be the first, but from my experience I have voted the second option, there really isn't a difference in my opinion
1st option ofcourse :)
Easily can be seen from training data if you have trained some skill for longer time (defending in my case).
It even says so in the rules, so no doubt that's the way things are
edit: wrote 2nd and meant 1st :))

I agree, first option.
i rememberI trained defender, my keeper poped after 8 weeks on poor defender (full pop).

I don't understand "random pops"
Other skills (than trained one) pops because hidden sublevel reaches next level.

i've been training with half weeks for 2 different skills with a coach who has unearthly in both those skills but nowhere else he does have such a high skill. i see no results for 1 of the 2 skills being trained despite random popups of several other skills ... so i guess if there is a difference it's probably a very small one.

I think people who have looked carefully (I think Redjim) have reported that passing training for non-training positions was no quicker than general training
comparing with 'random pops' does put things in perspective. add the possibility that some of the 'random pops' can be exactly what you trained and 1) and 2) might look just the same for a manager despite of a statistical difference which would exist if indirect or general training would be a form of additional training on top of those 'random pops'.
meanwhile only the lord of chaos knows why my keeper raised both in technique and playmaking this week and not for example in passing or defense which were the 'official' training sessions for the past weeks :p

Lord of Chaos, hmmm...new nick name for me =)
Maybe because those skills were already close to pop.

maybe i dont understand well, but if you train pass, then it cant be a random pop at pass?!:)
btw pace, def, and other skills will pop faster.

If you train pass for your mids, your defs can random at it ;)
It ain't random, it's due to passive training. And at least imo passive training is more effective than general training and thus I go with the 1st option.
