Subject: General Training

It ain't random, it's due to passive training. And at least imo passive training is more effective than general training and thus I go with the 1st option.

i say you can't know for sure ... unless you wrote the code. everyone supposes that a training for someone on position is caused by that training, however i have not seen a player rise every training yet for trainings like defense or passing so there's a chance that some of the effects are caused by randomness.

interesting to see a trained skill general pops faster jump twice as fast there and i have an interesting image to add weight to things here - as the manager said.

you can see that defending popped twice recently (12 week pop or something) whereas tech didnt pop a second time. i was training defenders in defender during this time.

passing is similar to the tech graph. it popped the exact same week, to the same level but hasnt popped. i didnt add that as there are 3 overlapping graphs then (and as i said its identical to tech so not visible)

this is only for defenders and keepers though possibly. i will check my strikers during this time period there now also

EDIT: for my strikers they have no pops out of the ordinary. but are older (keeper was 19+20).
so i suggest keepers get passive defender training at a minimum.
might be worth you doing some analysis for us phil :)

Nope there is no real random. And yes we can know for sure. Just because of data.

If there was a real amount of random there would be pops for same user on a skill you never train (always same coaches) in say 40 and the second in say 10 weeks. That will not happen.
It is always logical. If a player of my popped once on a sideskill i do not train, and i know the talent of the player, it is just calculating when the next randompop wil be (plusminus 5 weeks)

Let say 16 mythical defending HC, 3 mythical assitants, talent around 3.5, age of player 17 to 18. 22 weeks to weak defending. It can be 24 or 20 but not 28 or 17.

Maybe it is a hidden feature that GKs train faster def then other players.

I can not see anything special on my goalkeepers pops between a thing like def or a thing i train (striker and technic)

Hmm what you cal random training is what we call passive training I guess.

Passive/random training is 20-30 % , general training is 10 %. Yes I am absolutely sure!
2010-08-12 18:24:56
oh!

then its not faster i think.
i think its training like other skills.

i was just asking out loud if there's a random factor which intervenes with the results, be it normal, passive or general training but by the looks of the graph and the replies it it's safe to say that the endresult for a certain player is mainly predetermined (by the moment where a certain talentrating for each skill is given to a player) and the trainings given by managers intervene with it, be it within artificial time-limits for pop-ups to keep things interesting.

so i'm now also convinced that real 'random training' or 'random pops' do not exist in game, you're just unsure about the result because not all the info is known for the managers and this creates the sense/illusion of randomness. i'm defenitely going for option 1) now :p

Passive/random training is 20-30 % , general training is 10 %. Yes I am absolutely sure!

Agree with Gallifax.
I've recorded all my training datas in the last maybe 4 years RL and passive training is at least twice as fast as general training.
I wouldn't say 30% for passive training though, I'd say 20-25%. Of course that's not for striker (I've never trained that) but for defender, technique, passing and playmaker.
2010-08-12 19:08:19
what do you mean with pasive training?

As atackertrainer i train technic also, but i can not see any faster 'random' pops for my not trainees when i trained technic a lot as when i do not train technic for a while. certainly not 2 times faster as usual without technictraining on my program.

my strikers have not been passively trained in defender at all out of the ordinary.
all were reasonably young (22,24,24) and got 30 weeks of defender training passively and only 1 of them popped a level, and they are all fairly low in defender.
EDIT; if it was 30% training then they would have popped in ~15 weeks, and 20% well then 20 weeks

With a keeper over a 50 week period, I noted the following full pops:

Def to Weak - 22 General Trainings & 1 Passive
PM to Weak - 24 General Trainings & 1 Passive
Tech to Weak - 26 General Trainings

Passing to Adequate - 8 General Trainings & 9 Passive
Passing to Good - 19 General Trainings & 6 Passive

To me its clear that the passive trainings cause more effect.

I had some massive pace-def trainings for about 40 weeks. Back then I used programs to track my training progress... Def pops were much much much more often for players not being trained

Hell, my keeper had good def XD
2010-08-13 00:32:01
This is only really something I have noted recently, in the past I just used to train pace all the time!

Nice to know though, it makes it viable to buy younger non-trainees as I can passively train up their secondaries.

remember coaches have sublevels in their skills also, so that may have something to do with it too?
2010-08-13 13:42:00
he has said unearthly head coach and same assistants (which im assuming he has also)

most unearthly coaches have 60 300 $ wage or whatever, so i assume that unearthly = max skill and there is little or no sublevel

as for your info phil, yes it seems that both passing, and defender have passive training for keepers so :)

defender was not passively trained by strikers
