Subject: Do Something for Sokker, for real!!!
Your topic was not removed but moved to antoher forum : [1261] Bugs / Ideas (en)
Sokker ir's a very dificoult game You have to know
The answers seem obvious to me:
- not a single marketing golden rule has been followed to sustain its development (except Google adwords which is only a little part of a decent marketing plan)
- dev's stay deaf to bugs reports and ideas/suggestions
- dev's communication towards the players stays at the worst level (as in a dictatorship)
- no visible or useful improvement for player experience since... can't remember!
Yep, +1
Good (internal and external) marketing is the most important tool if a company wants to grow (in this case Sokker and the number of users) and there are so many possibilities.
Improvements and keeping up-to-date with the developments is a 'must' in games to stay interesting and attractive for old(er) users and to attract new users, or else they will leave and/or won't even start playing Sokker because they found another game to play.
And two-way communication, between the company and customers, is always important to keep a close connection and relation with the customers, and the customers are we: the Sokker (Plus) managers. Without managers there is no Sokker.
I think the DEVs are fine programmers, but poor business managers :)
And it's not all that difficult, all can be found on Wiki:
Marketing management, a business discipline which is focused on the practical application of marketing techniques and the management of a firm's marketing resources and activities.
Marketing, the process which creates, communicates, delivers the value to the customer, and maintains the relationship with customers. It generates the strategy that underlies sales techniques, business communication, and business developments. It is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer relationships and create value for their customers and for themselves.
Marketing plan, this may be part of an overall business plan. A solid marketing strategy is the foundation of a well-written marketing plan. While a marketing plan contains a list of actions, a marketing plan without a sound strategic foundation is of little use.
Marketing strategy, a process that can allow an organization to concentrate its limited resources on the greatest opportunities to increase sales and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.
SWOT analysis, a strategic planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats involved in a project or in a business venture. It involves specifying the objective of the business venture or project and identifying the internal and external factors that are favorable and unfavorable to achieve that objective.
These analysis can be used to make a SWOT analysis:
Context analysis, a method to analyze the internal and external environment in which a business operates.
Business analysis, the discipline of identifying business needs and determining solutions to business problems.
Market analysis, studies the attractiveness and the dynamics of a special market within a special industry.
Competitor analysis, an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors.
Customer relationship management, a widely implemented strategy for managing a company’s interactions with customers, clients and sales prospects. It involves using technology to organize, automate, and synchronize business processes, principally sales activities, but also those for marketing, customer service, and technical support. The overall goals are to find, attract, and win new clients, nurture and retain those the company already has, entice former clients back into the fold, and reduce the costs of marketing and client service. Customer relationship management describes a company-wide business strategy including customer-interface departments as well as other departments. Measuring and valuing customer relationships is critical to implementing this strategy.

Do you know if DEVs want to grow their game ?
Moreover, do you have some data about the number of Plus SK managers ? The purcentage of decrease or growth of them ?
Do you have some data to know if they are or not profitable to express that they are bad business managers ?
I'm not trying to say you are wrong but you evoke some things that i'm really not sure you have data to answer... but maybe you can tell me

I don't have any data either but I guess Charles Hill wanted to point the lack of respectful behavior the Devs show towards the users (especially the ones who payed for Plus and who really sustained the game).
A basic rule for a good manager is to have a clear communication. To make it simple : say what you do and do what you said. This statement is far from what we have seen during last months!
Not growing is something different than defending your market share and from where I am, it looks like if both things have come to an end :/ No improvement means short live cycle and short term death in the fast moving IT environment.
By extension, you can also guess that if number of users decreases, number of Plus users also decreases (maybe not in the same proportion, I agree), and overall turnover is probably smaller now compared to what it was with 75 000 users. No doubt the payment process issues were top priorities to find more cash.

There are promoters in Sokker who receive free Plus for posting links, the Facebook button is introduced, the free Plus days has been increased from 10 to 30 days to make inviting others with the link www.sokker.org/?buddy=your_login more attractive, so yeh, I think they want to grow or else all these things would be strange to have/introduce.

I don't have this data, but the total managers decreased by more then 30% in less then 1,5 years so this can't be good for the number of Plus managers. The fewer managers there are, the fewer managers there are to buy Plus. There is no precise data needed to know this ;) And probably also the fewer managers there are left, the fewer managers will start playing, so even less incomes. And I'm not even talking about the negative mouth to mouth publicity these more then 30% who left can or will have when they talk to friends or on other forums about Sokker. They didn't stop playing because they liked it so much.
And not doing something structural to solve this problem and turn around this trend, won't change anything. And if something is going on to solve this problem, but without any communication about it, isn't helping either. When the DEVs notice the managers are becoming restless, and the DEVs still care about Sokker and the number of managers, they should intervene to calm everyone down. And this is not that difficult with some communication. Be active instead of passive, or else restless becomes unhappy etc.
And being a good business managers or not isn't all about making profit, it's much more then that. If you ask me, one of the most important skills of all a good business manager must have is to know how crucial customers are for your business, to know what they want and how to keep them happy so they buy the product. The customers are the goal, making profit is the result.

Maybe sokker can make PUBLIC RELATION (PR). Dev's do his job only. PR talk to users and to greg. Then greg and devs decide what to improve next after hear from his PR team. After that, the decision announce to users by PR and Promotor promote this to wide world.
Is that my tought sytematic already?

They could do it, the thing is they won't because they don't give a damn about it.
It's their game and they do what they want.

This really piss me off ^^
Ok, it's their game..but if they wanted to act like this they should have made a game only or friends..not making it a massive online game and making pay a plus!
What about opening a survey to ask the devs to comunicate and hear us common users?

No one is making you pay for plus, you can play for free. :)
True, but also no one makes you to buy a certain brand of trousers. You can keep wearing your old trousers but it won't look as nice. And the moment you have bought that new trousers, you can expect certain things of it, for example it stays the same color, doesn't shrinks every time you wash it, doesn't fall apart after wearing it two times etc.
So when you buy Plus, you can expect certain things, at least an active owner, some communication and new developments. And not giving managers the feeling it's only about getting their money and then lean back and do nothing anymore.
