You've totally got a point. A great idea badly done. It's one thing to run it on Christmas day, a day when most people won't be around but to only announce it at the last minute wasn't clever. Had they actually announced it a week earlier people might have made the effort to sign in.

It was a great idea and its apreciated. Do you think it would be a good idea to do it again for january the first or 2nd? Or maybe another day with 1 or 2 weeks previously announced.
