Yes but:
The probability of injury will be higher on a pitch with poor condition... :)
Yes, it can also be lower (lower than the previous rate?) if the condition of the field is high, but what if you're stuck in a league with 7 scrooge-like managers that prefer to let their stadions rot because they think their best chance of success against the top team(s) lies in relying on luck? ;)
I was just thinking of a strategy that could take advantage of this: For the serious matches, have a first team of old players (cheap and easily replaceable) and a field in extremely poor condition. Injuries would hail down upon both sides equally, but it wont be as painful on you, as losing training is not an issue and having only older players allows for the economy to fill the bench with players just as goood as on the field.
And you could still train on wednesdays. Just play on another manager's perfect stadion for friendlies ;)
Oh yeah, I can imagine the battle for finding perfect stadions for friendlies. Before, it was about picking an opponent that gave a good revenue. Now, the single most important thing to search for is the perfect stadion (unless you have it yourself) :)

He won't be useful to you then. By the time Yarburg gets back from his "vacation" he will probably be so fat that he cannot pass through the players tunnel to the field.
well you will have 7 games per season at their pitches in crappy condition. so yes injuries
but 7 games with less on your home pitch
they will have 13 matches in crappy condition (their 7 in own pitch,6 others, then a good one on yours and so probably 200% more chances of bad injuries.)
yes its annoying having increased chance, but they will be much weaker when playing you as they have 2-3 injured players possibly, so you dont need to play all "important" players for you

ALSO lots of clubs will have high pitch quality. imo so long as its gonna be above average you are ok for friendlies etc...
cost to keep it in top condition will be too costly i guess, so not worth it probably. im thinking you just improve it to top quality once every 3-4 weeks...we wait and see

Depends. It might be the case that playing on a poor quality pitch that's narrow against sides with stronger midfielders might help level the playing field and give you a chance to take their strength away. From what I saw of my CC match in 2d, my normally accurate and reliable midfielders struggled to connect passes.
On the other hand if technique plays a role in controlling bobbles, if your opponent has a lack of tech you might also want to play with a poor quality pitch to make them have more difficulty maintaining the ball.
I'm not entirely sure on how large an effect this is going to have, but if it's significant the above could come into play. It may also cost more money to have better quality as well which might deter people.
The main thing is it appears like we have some sort of choice which allows the option of very different styles of play.

Since the stadium is no longer just an aesthetic issue, I guess something should be done about NT stadia. We can't keep playing NT matches at Limbo :P
My plus finished, but I will plusman shortly... The 3d viewer is the first developement, what is a really good developement, this is my oponion. Every time I used to write the bad thing in the forum, but now I wrote the good thing to. So this is a good work, and a stadium grasses is a good thing too. I will pay for the good grass, I will looking for a friendly opponent, ho look after the grass too.
I will pay for the good grass
I always knew sokker was addictive ^^

I welcome that there are so many changes and I am curious to see how they work. I really hope it will all look much better than it sounds.
3D viewer, changing pitch size and grass mow and keeper animations are really nice additions. Also, a big thanx to devs for fixing several bugs like those with attendance algorythm, tactics and especially launching the ball forward. However, I am really worried about ME changes. Let's go through each of these.
All of changes related to the pitch condition, ball bouncing and injuries are really nice addition to complexity of the game. I really support this. However, they need to be finetuned very carefully. The main problem will be that these will effectively only increase the quality gap between rich (older) and poor (younger) teams. New teams will have to watch matches of even lower quality and they will make even less competitive trainees because they will suffer from more injuries than rich clubs who will definately invest in the best pitch possible. 5% decrease of speed will also hit more the already overly poor quality of lower league matches.
Better passes for set pieces and DEFs covering of players are simply great ideas. More short passes are great but again finetuning will be key. Better dribbling is generally great but this will again make having lower quality defenders equal a mission impossible to win against stronger teams.
Height changes and especially player weight addition with implications are completely unnecessary. Weight implications is an unbelievably stupid idea. There were so many great ideas on forum bugs/ideas and devs choose to do this!? Now all our players will randomly loose or gain value based on introduction of this unexplicable idea. How is that in any way an improvement to the game? This seems like something that was fun for devs to implement and not a feature that anyone would ever want to have.
Added possibility of injury while dribbling, but, in exchange, lowered probability of other injuries seems as a possibly great idea if it will in total reduce the amount of injuries. I just don't understand how is that different than what we had because players were already injuring themselves when simply controlling the ball all alone.
Conclusion. It's great that there is so many work done. I just hope that all these numerous changes have been tested properly and that I am wrong about further increase of quality gap between top class (old) clubs and newbies that will quit even more because of size of the gap. Myself included.
