Subject: New match engine discussion
It looks like the def was first on the ball and got tackled.
but striker that tackled def was in offside.
it doesn't change the matter.
it doesn't change the matter.
of course it does
the def controlled the ball so there was no offside
the def controlled the ball so there was no offside
I actually remember having seen many times on this engine how defs get that bad first touch (just touching the ball but it bounces away from them) and strikers in offside gets offside. I definitely remember wondering many times if that really works as offside. I also agree that in real when defs touch it, its not offside.
if it bounces of a def, then it is offside
if the def has control over the ball and striker tackles him, then there's no offside
so everything works as it should
if the def has control over the ball and striker tackles him, then there's no offside
so everything works as it should
how do you define when he controls it and when he just touches it? by centimeters between ball and leg? sounds funny.
Edit: I would say that touching is controlling cause he makes ball bounce near him or stop it closer to him. Otherwise its ridiculous.

It gets defined by sokker... There's no comparison to real life :p
Btw, I hate it when my players can't control a ball that has almost reached 0 speed, but they always control the hardest balls with ease :)

It is ridiculous... Especially when defender "blocks" a powerful shot and instantly passes the ball.
One other thing bothers me the most. Its a situation where closest player to the ball is GK(slower one), second closest is a defender(both from the same team), and the third closest is an opposing striker. Defender is not interested in the ball because GK is closer, but GK can't reach it before striker who gets it first and has a great scoring chance. This can be really annoying, you can have a defender with superdivine pace who will just do nothing.

Yes, it's annoying.. but ask RL coaches about miscommunication between GK and defs.. :)
Miscommunication can happen between any two players not only defs and goalies, but this is not a case of that.
After a deep pass from opposing team, do RL defs run and cover the ball or do they just let goalie and striker race for it?
