and exactly where is the mistake?

In this case your video example does look a bit strange, but in other cases it would be fine as it can be an offside offence.

Offside rule:
Offside (sometimes known as offsides) is a law in association football which states that if a player is in an offside position when the ball is touched or played by a team-mate, the player may not become actively involved in the play. A player is in an offside position when closer to the opponent's goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender (which is usually the last outfield player), and also in the opponent's half of the pitch. "Offside position" is a matter of fact, whereas committing an "offside offence" occurs when a player is "actively involved" and is subject to the interpretation of the referee. Goals scored after committing an offside offence are nullified if caught by the referee.

Offside...

Edit: or are you talking about the fact that another player touches it first? Still offside, imho.

well, i'd say its not offside, its not the my player fault that the other player cant handle the ball..

yea, this is what I was talking about. Official rules probably say that if a player is in control and striker takes away the ball then it's not offside but when do you consider it under control? it's stupid.

Official sokker rules?
maybe, because in real life rules it depends.. a situation like mine posted some pages ago it's simply offside, because striker stealing ball takes advantage of his position (in offside).

I think that the matter it's very simple: engine consider the ball control like a new action, so it "delete" precedent action, so no offside.

This rule is realistic and almost fine, except in some situation (like mine).

no I was talking about real football rules not sokker but anyway it doesn't make any sense.
2014-02-05 16:21:53
it depends..
for example, this is a real situation in a Serie A match some weeks ago

this is a odd situation, but the goal is right, there's no offside because the first action (launch to a player in offside) never completes, because defender interrupt it; then starts the second action, with a player (the one in regular position) that takes the ball and score the goal.

but a situation where a player is in offside when the ball starts, with the defender stopping the ball and the opponent tackling him from behind (tacking an advantage from his offside position) it's a clear offside IMHO.

there was similar situation in last week bundesliga game hannover-gladbach, and the offside was given. well, its always hard for referees to make decision in these situation, but imo its offside.

offside rule is sometimes though decisions to call. A player is allowed to be in offside as long as he not have influence on the game. Its though i real life and sometimes we feel the decision here in sokker isnt right either. Overall i like the ME, could have been done som tweaking. I my opinion there are other things to be done in the game which are far more important than the ME.

This is the official FIFA rule for offside. See difference in "offside position" and "offside offence":

Dont show such useless video cause it's not what we are talking about. That player was not involved in play so no offside.

But I remember situations where last defender passes the ball to gk and last striker who is in offside can catch that ball first and go 1x1. So it kinda goes against this advantage position as that doesnt count as offside. This is too hard to determine(some of these situations) even for referees so it's not worth discussing much about it.

Sorry, next time I'll ask you about my post to understand if they could be useful or not.

useless comment: if striker was in offside when defender passes the ball, there is no offside.

:P

If defender is of team A and striker of team B, this situation can never ever be offside.
