Ah ! I recognize these words : chapter 5, versus 27, greg's Bible...

And there you go again .... I wonder were it went wrong, from staff member (if I remember correctly) to agitator.

You already have the answer

And as agitator, you are not bad too

Crappy players are those who are destroying the fun on the forums by their negative behaviour and by that the fun of others, if you ask me!

And correct me if I'm wrong, but the total managers finally went up again after loosing tenth of thousands last seasons. And yes, some faithful users has left, but many more started to play. If you know anything about business you would know not to focus to much on a few thousand on a sinking ship, but try to reach the hundreds of thousands or even millions with a 'new' ship and bring in as many of them as possible.

That 's ! Yes, that's sooo funny !

Putting a product on a market that does'nt work correctly (with no test before)... That's really good business indeed !

Sure the Devs will get billions of euros like that !

The old ME was only loosing managers, to give you an idea of how bad it was, just a little more as 2 and a half months ago (2012-05-23) 41915 managers were left, now it are 51263 managers. I think this is prove enough, or you should ignore the drop of managers of last seasons with the old ME ofcourse.

If you ask me, when it goes to ME changes and, what is connected with it, tactical adaptability to those changes, one should look at people who play this game 'for real' at highest level.

and when you do so, at least in Poland, you can see that people are completely devastated by the changes. in Poland previous champion and vice champion [who is an admin by the way] have both sold all their players because in their opinion, this ME is total crap.

what is more, even people that are winning say that they don't like the engine and can't find any pleasure in it.

I've been playing this game for long, long years, always trying to support engine changes. I always found most fun in playing with tactics. I always tried to take most advantage of new changes, almost from the beginning I used to be a NT coach in Poland, Australia, Eesti, Belgium. And you know what? I really don't like this engine - the games look too random, there isn't much connection with what you do in tactic with what you see during the game. You can use same tactic in 3 games and in each game your team will behave in a totally different way, with completely different actions etc.

Please Charles, I know that you're trying to be the Devil's advocate here, but let's be realistic. When experienced users, who devoted a lot of their time to this game and simply loved it say that it sucks, you really shouldn't be the one to say that it doesn't. You're simply not credible enough since 3rd Dutch league is your top achievement so far.

Wait for the after-season bot clearing, then give your judgements. Also remember that sokker never had such promotion like during Euro 2012.

With so clever arguments, i even don't need to argue anymore

And you are mocking about believers in another topic ?? LOL !!

All about a problem of old ME ? I could'nt even think you are able to express this here...

Exactly...

I don't think the division I'm playing in is of any importance to like or dislike the ME (2nd division btw ;)). I just spend my time differently on Sokker and not on the TL to get to the top. If I would stop being a mentor, write tutorials, be an active staff member by checking the forums daily to copy and past ideas, bugs and problems on the test server, etc, and spend this time on the TL I would play higher, but I don't :)

But to get to the real point, I don't say the ME is great or perfect, it's better and has much more potential to become a lot better as the old ME which was all about ping-pong soccer and predictible games and results. If it was all that much better last seasons, why did so many leave the game then? It was far from perfect but many seem to have forgotten about that already. This new ME absolutely needs more work to make it better, specially tactics should be more visible again if possible. But I don't think it's a bad ME, just not yet finished. Chances take time sometimes, the old ME also wasn't that good after the first implementation, it has been tweaked also for 8 years.

And another thing is, people tend to hold on to things they know and are often reticent when they have to deal with new, unknown things. I think this is also part of the problem, and not only the problems they see in the new ME. But ofcourse I can't prove this, but it happens in rl many times.

I know all that stuff about why it wasn't tested ... being staff member for over 4 years with over 2 years as admin ... well, think I know pretty much how it works up there, dont you think so? :) Same for Stef (as you said) ;) Shame you cant read the adminforum where I wrote a resignation text, including a whole paragraph about how I felt the relationship with the devs. Surprisingly, quite some others agreed. This ME was just another perfect example.
