Subject: »Do you like the new ME?

it makes literally no sense to make a pass backwards in such situation

No indeed, ATTs won't do that when they only have the GK left in front of them. ATTs can often be blamed for being to selfish, not for giving to many passes when they also could have scored :/

But why sometimes ATTs decide to pass instead of shooting I don't know. Maybe because they don't have a clear shot on goals because a DEF is in front of them?

Or simply because of the PM level. PM has becoming more important with the current ME, and starts to look like that other game, dafuq was its name...

This week my divine goalkeeper conceded 2 goals from far away from the penalty area. The field was so disgusting i played against a bot team so the ball had weird trajectory . Yes i managed to win but just 3-2 and even the game was expected to be even tough game the fan mood did not changed (stayed 3th level). My striker passes back when he was 1 one on one against the goalie. The 2 mids were doing unnecessary passing in circle. So what from that is to like?
Obviously more than 4 defenders in line is waste of resources in most cases you need only 3 of them even if the opponent plays with 2 wingers they are almost useless.
So whats to like in the new ME? nothing for me. I already stopped watching 3d.

Well I think that excellent pm is enough for a striker...?

Or simply because of the PM level.

Mmm, that could be true, haven't looked at it that way. Will keep an eye on that also next matches :)

PM is no longer a secondary skill, has become more like speed, a must-have for all players. Strikers with high PM will usually choose to shoot instead of passing, regardless of defenders in front of him. My striker took a shot last game directly into a defender, the ball bounced back till the midfield.

I dont have much problems with the current ME, we just have to adapt i suppose. But there are a couple of issues here which defies logic, and those should be fixed. Like those launched-balls, man, they are driving me nuts. I was watching top NT matches, where world class players launched balls and they were perfectly aware that they cannot reach it.

We had an old ME, with its good and bad habbits, but at least the players had some logical sense. Where a divine speed player had always ran faster than an outstanding. They were playing according to their skills. I miss that part, and im still searching for it in this ME.

the most annoying part is the short passes after throw in

you can have superidinve pm - superidivine passing guy who gets the pass from throw in and you can still expect him, that he will pass back...and miss, while his teammate is 2m aways from him!

Yup + when you've placed the players close to each other and a player with divine tehcnique can't catch the short throw-in but always bounces it out from the line.

Chuck Norris support this new engine;)

this is a bug, please post it on ME errors in Bugs/Ideas and charles will post it on the test server to devs and then they can see it

it's a very, very old bug...

I played with MID-order for my strikers the whole season but can't really share your observations.
However, I feel that my strikers tend to do silly passes and slow down (you know, the launching) if they have "too much" space, which is quite weird. Last week I had a game where I knew strikers would have loads of space, I was basically playing with 3 strikers against 2 very deep DEFs. So I gave my strikers ATT-orders to develop more "drive" towards the goal, yet they were completely overwhelmed by their freedom. Either silly passes to each other until they got caught or the launched the ball straight to the defs.

Btw my playmaker crosses quite often after throw-ins. Perhaps dragging the strikers back a bit more could help. So they are rather unmarked and don't get caught in an offside trap. Headers are not that promising anyway.

of course :) but often when they don't have where to cross [for example when opponents has high defence and strikers are out of penalty area] they pass back to the thrower...I mean back to throw in :)

Well, if that's the best option they have, then you failed to give them others. ;) Sometimes, shifting the play to the other side with a central placed MID can be a good idea. Or take the throw-in directly more in the center, I think ranges have increased a bit. I mean, even if the thrower can gets the ball back and can control it, it's quite often lost, because the defender arrives soon (unless your opponent plays silly tactics).

Well, the current ME had at least one great achievement, anaconda has had enough and left the building
