Subject: NT players - I don't want them
I am venting here.
I just lost my SECOND NT player to a 3 week injury just this season. I have lost at least one NT player a season since I can remember.
I will not respond to questions about NT players again. There is no benefit to the player to have them on their NT, no benefit to the owner to have them there, and there is too much risk of silly injuries.
I am done.

Perhaps a wage compensation could help. Anyway, doesnt NT-players get a slightly better training?
If you dont want your player to play in the NT, then simply dont update his skills/dont make them public. As you know, then club managers cant refuse a NT-call, officially I mean. (They can say no though. ;P)
e: OR simply dont buy/own NT-players. :)

I came to this conclusion already many seasons ago. ;) All the so called advantages for having NT players are rubbish compared the the risk of losing them to an injury. The only advantage is the extra training when you have a U21 player and some years after that since older players benefit less from training anyway and so after that there is no longer much of an advantage.. Except maybe the fact that they usually sell for slightly more money on the TL.. I don't know why but I guess some people still like to have NT players in their team :p

Perhaps a wage compensation could help...
If I remeber well, after playing a NT match, a NT player playing the first following match with his club (let's remember that following day is Sunday, so it's an official match) would ensure a noticiable increase in fan attendance (+spectators' numbers = +tickets' revenues). Isn't it enough 'wage compensation'?
It seems some NT player's owners get pissed off ONLY when its player get a long injury. But when there are no injuries, it seems that nobody seem to get pissed off for having this extra advantage. Strange, isn't it? ...

Really? Didnt know that.
Is it an official information or what?

it is what's told once long time ago, but never noticed it. Guess 'noticiable' is like 5% or so ...
A mod told me that greg told him that it is not true.
There are two main advantages for players taking caps in NT
1) % training (you got full training letting him play 1 NT match and 1 official or friendly club match)
2) % experience (they grow faster
I understand your disappointment, I lived many situations like this in the past but it's part of the game.
You can try to ask NT coach if they don't call your players during crucial matches (like last round, or qualification matches), even more because in last weeks NT don't play official matches or if they, games are done.

That is one of those rubbish advantages you're talking about since IF there is an increase in attandance, it's so small.. that you don't even notice it. I've really kind of studied this 'advantage' in the beginning when I was still curious about sokker and trying to find out new things and I came to the conclusion this increase is too small te be called an advantage.. The weather and your supportersmood is way more important for attendance then having NT players.. + it doesn't stack either.. I mean having 4 NT players or having only 1 NT player does not change the extra amount of sups.. unless you get 1 extra sup per NT-player.. lol..
Anyway.. I'm saying this because at some point I've had like 6 NT(u21) players with at least 4 of them playing every week so I would have noticed an increase if this 'you get more supporters after a NT game if your NT player played'.. and I didn't so.. The advantage sucks.
By the way, talking about advantages.. another so called advantage is that NT-players recover faster from their injuries.. Have you noticed how great this advantage is?? Yeah, me neither.. So the fact that you believe NT-players are worth having because of extra attendance etc.. just shows you have little experience with them.

I like to have National Team players just to see them play for the country and being important. It is indeed true that they have a bigger chance @ injury but isn't this like in real life?
yeah the little bit of extra training can be nice when they are young.. after 23 they train a lot slower and a 22 year old player does not play in NT.. So this advantage is actually only interesting for your u21 players and not that much for your NT players who are 27-29.. Because I don't know if you've noticed but NT-players tend to be old and thus who cares about a little bit of extra training?.. In many cases these kind of players don't even get trained anymore + this extra training thing is also only when they play with the same order as the one you're training.. If you train mids for example and the NT coach fields your player with def-order, you get nothing extra.
And about the experience.. how much does experience influence a player on the pitch? Not a great deal.. players that lack experience tend to position themselves slightly different then they are supposed to according to your tactic but other than this I haven't noticed a lot of difference between an experienced player and an inexperienced player.. Have you?
all in all: Having NT players is only for prestige.. you don't gain anything by having NT players.. Personally I don't even want them anymore and there are a lot more managers that think like I do.

The fact that you like having NT players because you want to see them play for their country and be important is not an ingame advantage.. It's something you like. I for example, could care less if any player of mine plays for NT if I don't get anything in return.. only a chance of injury :p
Having had a regular course of injuries the last few seasons to my NT players, I can honestly say that pretty much every day that goes buy reduces NT injuries by ... one day. No advantage I can find there.
In regard to the joy of having NT players, I only care about MY NT. What, really, do I have to gain by my top wing playing in some other country's NT, getting injured, costing me three weeks of supporter drops because they are losing hope when I not so surprisingly lost today's game?
well, then buy yankees :P (or Polish, and make sure they never go over unearthly form :P)
