Subject: Sokker isn't that great anymore! But ...
Been here that long it seems wrong to just walk away , i do totally understand why thousands have left tho , the devs have taken a fantastic game and made it into a massive steaming pile o shite lol
Nice. I'm not quite there yet, as I am only on my 21'th consequtive season in the top league. However not a single of those seasons have I finished below 2'nd place. Add to that a bunch of cup championships - and of course a gold, a silver and a bronze trophy from the Champions Cup. So of course my top answer would have to be:
- I built my team from scratch and I dont want to see it disappear
I dont know if it is intentional or not, but an option like "Love to spend hours analysing oponent and prepare tactics" should be among the choices of this topic. Had we not gotten this "auto-covering thingie", I would most likely have selected this as my main reason for being here. The devs made a good effort to lower this joy for me, but believe it or not I refuse to budge, and though I know that my tactical efforts now has less meaning, I still like fidling around with the little white dot on the tactic screen and try to trick this "auto-cpvering" that some lazy managers benefit so much from.
Also, I can totally identify myself with the post of grmbl. I have also several times considered to do the "sell everything and start up a new young team from scratch" trick, but I cannot make myself actually do it. Instead, it has also for me become a challenge in itself to see how long I can stay in the top - combining the needed training to support the economy, with achieving results. In my opinion the easy thing to do is the "sell and restart" trick. No, the hard challenge is to watch the top players you have trained get older and maybe see them loose their skills again, and to achieve results while managing the economy good enough to be able to buy replacements for the players that has lost too much in skills.

I met about 10 people from sokker in real life.. for me it's a fun to be here and still playing.. maybe sometimes i'm lazy, bored.. but this game is ok because of great forum. New engine sucks... I hope that Canada u21 will win this WC and show greg that it's random game. I'm Canada supporter but tbh they are not so strong to be in semi-finals. I hope they'll win all this u21 shit and show how stupid is new ME.

I selected other. My pure reason for being here is to prevent anyone ever beating my record for longest time in the same division.

I assume it has to be someone as weak as gubby, but the only one as weak as him stopped playing the game a while ago. I've heard rumours he has come back though...
I didn't check the poll yet, but for me it's probably the thing that I have yet to complete one thing with my Suomi-squad. I'm not sure whether I'd still play this game unless I made the decision in the beginning not to use a single foreign player, ever. The 1st goal was to make it to the top league, which I did quite fast. The 2nd goal was to win the Finnish Veikkausliiga which I've done a couple of times. The last goal is to win CCC, which I'll do next season. A bonus goal is to hit the 80% mark, which might happen this season or maybe not.
The game is still great, despite the changes/lack of changes. I don't like the covering of defenders that much though, cause it's made it more difficult to beat someone with a tailormade tactic. Still most of the times the better team wins, as in real life. There is a lot of complaining about unfair results every week, but as far as I remember it has been like that forever. Sometimes you lose even if you deserved to win, but there's always a chance to look in the mirror and figure out what needs to be changed in the tactic for next time.

my goal is to win Polish championship, Polish Cup and Champions Cup - then I will have all the possible trophies - so far I have golden medal from senior and u21 World Cups :)

I just had some bad luck and no defenders for most games...this week I should've won against the league leader! ;p
give me a couple of seasons...to be honest I could buy a team that would bring me to the 1st league in an instant, but I plan to take things slow. So far I have 74 000 000 $ and about 25 000 000 $+ in players...:)

Yes, I realized just after writing the message, that there's no way you've played that far in Meistriliiga, especially as you quit the game for a while. Well, it would've been much harder anyway, as we both know English Premiership is weak.
