I have a question about censure in sokker.

Can you, or can you not post funny pictures involving religions?

Because we always did that here and now suddenly a guy from Indonesia says that he won't allow us to joke about religions...and deletes all posts :F

I don't feel like it's in ANY way over the line...

There will always be somebody who is offended by a funny picture, no matter the theme of it. If you ask my private opinion, this picture is not over the line. But on the other hand, i can understand if somebody feels offended by it, it's not the most hilarious picture i've ever seen.

To laugh at sth or sme is not universal as freedom is not universal. It is always related to yourself and the environment... As freedom is gained when power is gained, Power is mother of Freedom whatever you do...

Yes, but sokker was always quite liberal with such things.

There were racist jokes, Hitler jokes etc. and now suddenly a mild joke involving Catholic religion [not joking OF/ABOUT religion but using religious context to make a joke] is forbidden...doesn't make sense

In my opinion, this joke is funny and I don't understand how you can be offended by it. Nowhere in the Bible, it says that you can't make MC Hammerjokes about Jezus.

I could maybe understand that putting religious jokes all over the place wouldnt be fine.... but when it is posted in one topic, that is made for jokes etc. i really cant see the problem... if people from asia or the middle east doesnt like this kind of behaviour, they shouldnt sign up for a game, which has its base in europe/usa.... :) Or they should avoid those kind of topics then, if they are too delicate feeling to accept western society humour.

Anyway, it's stupid logic.

People died for Poland - we shouldn't laugh at Poland?
People died for Hitler - we shouldn't laugh at Hitler?

If you follow this kind of logic ['somebody might feel offended] then almost NO jokes should be allowed...because there always will be one or two overly sensitive guys...

For those who think that joke connected with religion is 'too much'...

Freedom of speech is just your own freedom of speech against freedom of being insulted. A joke is relative in every country. In a public area, if you allow every kind of freedom, you can allow every kind of insult towards your own culture, your own morals... For instance, let's say, many people want to have sex orgy in square just in front of a kindergarden where you take your chidren to have fun with them... What would be your feeling towards you and your chidren face to this act of freedom ? If you would not being insulted, just find one thing that would insult you too strongly to face it freely ;-)...
Then, the problem of freedom of speech is that you have to use a public area with individual morals, cultures compared with your own morals, culture... A french public person (don't remember the name here) told one day : " On peut rire de tout mais pas avec n'importe qui".
You freedom of speech is a power you put towards your environment to use it. You face to other powers or freedom of speech which have always limits of each morals and culture...

As adaca said, here, SK has a european culture due to a majority of european people playing here... Then other continent people must know that the morals and culture will be different when play this game and surely find some topics difficult to read even impossible... As SK is a place, private or public who have some rules to allow max of people to use his freedom of speech without feeling insulted and everyone should agree with the rules given.
